Cilla, of course there are exceptions to the stage door madness.   You have no idea what goes on - people doing stage door when they haven't even seen that performance, doing it ten or twenty times - all you need to do is read the chat boards.

Welcome fifteen GUESTS.  Any record producers out there?  Speaking of record producers, there's a thread about Lolita, My Love on one of the chat boards (an older thread).  Someone bumped it up today and I'd made a post in it about a year ago telling the true story of why a recording didn't happen.  I was going to do it back in 2001 - had a deal in principle with Liza Lerner, had a cast, everything - and then she called and told me some other "producer" had gone around her to John Barry and had convinced Mr. Barry that he was going to do it, and it really muddied up the works and she could do nothing about it.  I warned her that this was this guy's m.o. and that the recording would, most likely, not happen.  Needless to say, thanks to his interference, it didn't.  Someone responded to the post, asking my casting ideas - but all my posts have been removed - his response (about the casting) is still there, but not my posts.  So, I just posted again.  And if they remove that, I'll post it again.  This guy is like a little two-year-old - he complains to the moderators of the board, crying slander, and they ALLOW IT.  And yet his specious comments about me, which included my NAME, stayed on that board for a year - I never mention this yokel by name because frankly to mention his name would make me want to vomit on the ground.

As you know, I finally made such a stink with Mr. C. Brockman, that those inflammatory postings were removed.

And frankly, if it ever happens again, I shall tell all my wonderful stories right here at haineshisway.com, which I feel will soon be the most popular site on all the Internet.  More people will see those stories here than anywhere else.  I'm sure between elmore and me we could keep everyone in stitches for days.

I did end up watching a couple of episodes of Outer Limits.  I didn't really appreciate the show when it first aired - I was too much a Twilight Zone freak and I didn't like uncouth interlopers treading on that territory - but boy do I appreciate it now.

So, let me get this straight - this whole stupid Cubby Bernstein thing is a campaign for Xanadu to win the Tony?  Have I got that right?  Done by the same company, Spotco, that won the Tony for Avenue Q?  If this sort of thing is what it takes to win Tony Awards, then they should just stop giving them because it's just turned into one big stupid marketing ploy - the most money, the cleverest wins - nothing to do with the show anymore, just bombarding the Internet and newsfeeds with stuff - if this works, all I can say is what a sad day for theater.  I mean, if Xanadu is the show that should win the Tony, then trust that the show itself will speak for itself, just like all the other shows, none of which are stooping to this sort of crap.
