DR Jennifer - As for the
Legally Blonde show... Well... I thought it was an interesting twist, however, I think how the people behind the table handled it after the reading was a bit "unfair". First of all, in a real audition - even if the person has been given the scene ahead of time - memorization is not usually required - unless it's asked for specifically, but, in that case, the actor would have more than one day to get the lines down. Additionally, if the "reader" ever skipped or dropped a line, then the reader would be the one to acknowledge that slip first. -Of course, if the reader was reading the script too, well...
I think it would have been a bit "fairer" had Nikki acknowledged the dropped line first - rather than just having all that dead air during the scene. I think it would have been more interesting to see how the potential Elle's reacted to Nikki's admission.
Just my thoughts.
*However, it's been fun reading Nikki's comments on Facebook.
