I think those Angel Trumpets are the poisonous variety DR RLP.  I suggest you don't use them in your salads.

Oh, yes, they are quite to be avoided as food.  Their odor, in masses of such flowers, is said to be quite the "high".

I do not know who Tonto was, actually...a local actor I believe. He played Tonto in the Lone Ranger radio show they had during the banquet.

I watched "Enchanted" on DVD this afternoon.

It was fun.  It was tuneful.  It was enjoyable.

Do I smell a "Broadway" version in the  next 10 years?

re: the yogurt rule

I personally always have gone by the rule that if you have multiples of the same item that it only counts as one (in the grocery line).

I think some people think each. So unless someone specifies the actual rule. I think you will get people buying multiples of the same item in the express cash.

My interviewee and good buddy Gregory Moffett who was a child actor in the 50s (his sister is Sharyn Moffett). Greg starred in ROBOT MONSTER and TWO GUN LADY...but most here on HHW will remember him from the Fred Astair/Betty Hutton movie LET'S DANCE.

As a "customer" who interprets "express lane" as something intended for specifically limited quantities and faster service, any  item that has to be scanned should be "one item".

To say that 20 packages of toilet paper is "one item" is wishful thinking  on the part of the buyer, although the store seems willing to overlook it in the name of "sales."

The nature of "Express Lane" has become a very sick joke. Most stores put their most inexperienced cashiers in these lanes, seemingly, and it seems the regular lanes move much faster.

I do give in to the extra item in "Buy One, Get One Free", however.  I would not count the "Get One Free" as one of the 15 or 20 items in the express lanes.

At breakfast with Beverly Washburn and Jeffrey Breslauer chatting with Jeannie and Laurie. Jeffrey worked a lot on soap operas in the 70s and was a puppeteer on THE MUPPETS. He also had a role in one of the Muppet movies as well as lots of other movie and TV work. He is quite funny.

re: the sound of music reality show.

I just watched the first voting show of the Canadian version. And i'm curious if the london show did  the same thing.

We are down to 10 (that is when the voting by the public starts).

I must say i totally hated it. I have no idea who their target audience is. But simon (ALW helper, i think musical director of the show) picked these horrible songs for the singers.

They were not musical theatre. And they were bad.

There was nothing i liked.

The only part that was good was at the beginning when they sang a song from the show as a group number.

The part that made me really mad was apparently canada will vote for the bottom 2. And then simon gets to choose. If this goes on the whole way i will be annoyed.

Plus if we don't get to see the man already cast as the lead that will also make me mad. We need to see how he is with the girls.

There were only 2 i thought could work. One had expressions that really worked (jayme) and the other is stunningly beautiful and has this star quality. But based on their performances tonight i did not vote.

You can see them at:

If i buy 4 bottle of Coke. Then to me that is 1.

I"m not talking about buying dozens.

I never thought about if it had to be scanned then it is 1.

If you buy a 4-pack, then it is one item.   If you buy four bottles, that is four items, IMO, and it's the same thing as buying a bottle of ginger ale,  a bottle of root beer, a bottle of Coke  and a bottle of Sprite. FOUR separate items.

To follow your rule, I could buy 15 packages of steak and that should only be one item.  But I'm not wired to rationalize in that way.

Another shot of Gregg Palmer and Laurie.

Gregg starred in COLUMN SOUTH, TAZA SON OF COCHISE, SALLY AND SAINT ANNE, THE CREATURE WALKS AMONG US, THE CAT BURGLAR, FROM HELL IT CAME, a bunch of John Wayne movies, and hundreds more.

Ok, time for the catch up on some DVD watching...I think it will be THE CASE OF THE BABYSITTER (1947) which features my interviewee Rebel Randall, and then MY DOG SHEP (1946) starring Lanny Reese, who I just met at the Memphis show.

I guess everybody thinks of it differently.

I'm not talking about having 15 of 8 items and saying you have 8.

But if i have 3 Cokes, 3 steaks, 3 cartons of milk, and 3 boxes of cake mix. I think most people would go to the express of 8 of less.

A sweet shot of dear Laurie Mitchell, star of QUEEN OF OUTER SPACE, CALYPSO JOE, and MISSLE TO THE MOON.

And one of her co-stars was BK's very own Leslie Parrish (AKA Marjorie Hellen) as "Zema".
