DR George - Is there any chance you could burn another copy of this year's Tony Awards? ;)

Just let me know.

And now, I'm leaving.  Time to go home and do...something.

Until later.

Just saw the track listing for this four CD box set of Sondheim that's coming out in September.  Now, we'll just put aside that this box has been in the works for four years and had no release date until I announced Evening Primrose (the most anyone said to me was end of this year).  That is, I'm sure, just a coincidence.  There are, according to the press release, thirty-seven unreleased tracks.  No matter how I counted I could not come up with thirty-seven, unless there are separate tracks for the pieces in The Enclave and Invitation To A March.  I do hope they're not counting the Evening Primrose vocals because those have obviously been released.  But most of the unreleased tracks are Sondheim singing songs that have, in fact, been recorded elsewhere - by me, mostly on Unsung Sondheim, which also included The Enclave and Invitation To A March.  So, the demos are the thing here - if you want to hear Sondheim singing these songs.  The most interesting thing in the set are the demos from Saturday Night with Jack Cassidy and, of all people, Arte Johnson.

I also poured over the listed titles, and couldn't come up with 37 titles that I hadn't already heard and/or have.  And from what I could tell, some of them are alternate demo takes that were not released on the two "Sondheim Sings..." discs.  -Which I acquired a couple of years ago through the kindness of some friends.  ;)

This afternoon I took Sherlock to the vet to check out “something” on his foot.  It wasn’t at all what we expected.  The vet said it might be a foxtail & the only way to know is to go in and look.  Even then it might not be found.

Since we had given him an afternoon snack the surgery could not be done this afternoon.  Well, it could if we were willing to give him morphine to make him throw up.  Our plan had been to give him a much needed shower on Saturday, instead Keith did so within minutes of our returning home.  Boy was he dirty!  I’m glad we opted not to make him sick before surgery.

The foot will be bandaged & must be kept dry.  The vet suggested I go to the Outdoor Store in town & get a “dry” pouch large enough to fit over Sherlock’s paw.  I hope I can find one.

Qu'est-ce que c'est foxtail?

The longest I have gone without food was 6 days.  That was when I had my two back surgeries - back to back, so to speak.  After my first surgery, they realized that my back would totally collapse if I attempted to stand up, so they had to go in agian through my stomach to stabalzie my spine.  They waited 48 hours between surgeries, and after I came out of the second surgery, they told me that I couldn't have any food until I had .......uh, done my dooty.  I tried explaining that wasn't going to be very likely, because I had by then been without food for 3 days, but the doctor would not change the orders.  So, all together between going in the hospital, waiting betwen surgeries, and then waiting again; the only thing I comsummed for six days, except juice and tea, was celery jell-o.

...And since we ended our day today a half later than normal, we get to start tomorrow a half hour later.  I think I may treat myself to an actual sit down breakfast at the diner by the hotel during those "extra" 30 minutes.

We had a surprise thundershower late this evening. Not in the forecast; it just HAPPENED. Sadly, it didn't cool things off enough to open up the house and let the attic fan do its job.

I got a bunch more WALKER TEXAS RANGER episodes watched. Four, I think, but after awhile one loses track since there's shootings and at least one beat-down per episode (and often two or three). So monotonous.

The most famous guest star in the episodes I watched tonight was Barbara Bain playing a nun.

In another episode, Burt Young was the primary guest star though he really didn't have much to do.

And I ended my evening with tonight's FEAR ITSELF. A very talky drama tonight with a less than wonderful payoff. Nice to see James Roday and Maggie Lawson playing characters other than their PSYCH personalities.

So, I've watched 15 episodes of WALKER and have 10 more to get through. I should be able to finish it by Saturday night. Not sure I can do all 10 tomorrow though I'd like to try to finish it. I don't think there are any bonus features, so once I'm through with the episodes, that should be the end.
