I received my copy of the "South Pacific" CD this week.
I am now wondering why I have 5 different versions on CD and three on DVD.
It's not my favourite R & H show. (I would rather have more versions of "Carousel" but I guess there are not many available)

If it's the most recent issue on DVD, treat yourself to the "roadshow" version.  It's a bit rough in spots (visually) but it's SOOOOOOO worth it!

It has become my favorite film musical.

I suspect my purchase of this "South Pacific" was to have some more of "Danny Burstein" in my collection.

DR Elmore - if you think of it, please let Mr Burstein know that he has two fans in the land of OZ. We have such wonderful memories of his performance in TDC.

If we all comment on Singdaw, body part by body part, we could make a new posting record!

It has been said, I'm told by unreliable sources, that singdaw is also all legs.

Yes Ron.  I just corrected it!
I still have problems getting through the coloured (even the colored) filters of the movie.
I enjoy Reba's in concert version a lot.

There are anywhere from five to seven versions of "Carousel" out there on CD, I believe.

I think I have a few on vinyl that I've not replaced (or found cheap on CD!).

TMC aired "Boy on a Dolphin" yesterday.  I "captured" it on my DVR.

.

Speaking of dolphins, as I was walking on the skywalk on my way back from the jail, I saw a pick up truck with two fake dolphins in the back.  Standing up proud as they went down the street.

Doo doo doo looking out my back door

DR JMK will no doubt be deighted to know that we did manage to get past the initial excitement of the oranges and thoroughly enjoyed the charming "Cranford".

Did you ever get that expanded soundtrack issued by Angel a few years ago?  It's the film soundtrack in stereo, but feautres the complete "Carousel Waltz" recorded by Alfred Newman for the album (the anomaly being that the monaural LP version of the waltz had more music than the stereo LP version). It also includes "Louise's Ballet", but they basically recorded directly from the film tracks which includes sound effects from the film.  They're not too distracting and you get all that lovely music, too.

I better go. It's been a very long week. How on earth is it Friday tomorrow?   I've gotten enough done that I'm only taking a little work home tonight, lol.

Indeed I do have it DR Ron. (Thanks to a certain French man who is on holiday at the moment and thus not even lurking as he want to do!)

Amy, do you know the Frank Loesser song "Once in Love With Amy"?  Does Mark sing it to you?

No, but he once sang to me "I've Got a Crush on You" in its entirety when he first started wooing me. It took an entire hour for him to work up his nerve. The work-up went like this:
Mark: "Okay, here goes...No, wait, I can't."
Amy: "You really don't have to sing it."
Mark: "But I really want to". Deep breath. "No, I can't." "Okay, I'm really going to sing it. Here goes..." Deep breath. "No, wait, I can't do it."
This went on for literally an hour. It was terribly romantic. He finally did sing it straight through without stopping. And since that was eight years ago, it obviously worked!

Isn't Stallone's brother Frank the one that actually sings?  That DR MBarnum had some kind of crush on??

I have heard, through the unreliable grapevine, of course, that the only thing disembodied about singdaw is his hair.

Pet peeve, friends who ask for favors so you go out of your way to get somewhere even when you're tired and don't feel good and then they cancel after you get there
That would make me really peo'd!  Is that a word?  Anyhow, I would be upset too!
