Saturday mornings, during my youth, were spent assisting with the weekly housecleaning chores.  I'd ensure my room was tidy, then vaccum the house for my mom while she did laundry and hung it up outside.  In spring and summer, I'd get up early and mow the lawn...or wait until dusk to do it.  I'd also help out by dusting.

At lunch, I'd get my weekly allowance, and then I'd be off to town for whatever movie I picked from one of three theaters.  Two first-run theaters were the normal choices, but a third theater offered older films (two or three years old) on double bills.

THOSE WERE THE DAYS!  I often sat through a film twice.

Off to Amtrak to Waterford, CT to see MYTH at the O'Neill center.

I'll be E&T until at least 2 A.M.

Happy 5th of July, everybody.

What is it with the tues at 9pm tv slot this summer?

I just looked at my tv guide and they put:

The tudors (new season)

Canadian idol

Hell's kitchen finale

In plain sight (which after 3 episodes is sort of growing on me - i won't say i love it or even really like it. But the last 2 episodes were enjoyable).

So far today i went to the park. Made sand castles. Went on the slide.

Then went to costco to eat a hotdog (no bun for me).

And now my niece is asleep upstairs. She must have been very tired.

She is very proud of herself. Today she peed 3 times in the toilet. She got to ring a bell and put stickers in her book!

Good Afternoon!

It was raining in Ft. Lauderdale, and it's raining here in New York City too.

However, I like the rain in New York City.  ;)

Saturday mornings as a kid, for me, were spent right in front of the TV set. My brother Dan and I were the first to rise in the a.m. and we would head to the living room to watch Bugs Bunny.

Eventually our parents would awaken and make us breakfast. Then it was more cartoons, until the Bowery Boy's movie at 10 am and the Chiller Diller matinee movie at noon.

After those motion picture delights were over then, if it was summer, I would head down the road to either Jana and Crissy's house or Scott and Mark's house.

So... Who's house did you head over to more often?  Jana and Crissy's? or Scott and Mark's?

-Although, I suspect that you played with dolls and did your friends' hair at both houses.

;D

Jose-

And what errands did you run today?

Or Walk today?

Well, since you asked:

I bank'd, and I grocery'd.  I would have walked from errand to errand, but due to the rain, I ended up taking the subway (to the bank), and taking a cab (from the grocery store).

Best of all, there were no lines at either place.  Usually the lines at my bank on a Saturday are looooong, and Fairway is never really known for not being crazy.  Both places were strangely non-busy and calm.  And almost all the items I needed - and bought - at Fairway were on sale too! Thank You, New York City!

I also just spoke with my Mom.  My parents got back from their Scandinavian cruise last night.  -And it turns out that they were on the Norwegian Jewel - which is the sister ship for the one that the cast that I just rehearsed will be sailing on tonight.

They had a great time on their cruise, and since most of the crew and entertainers were Filipino, there were able to "cheese-meese" with everyone.  ;)

Back from a full jog.  I shall now shower and then be on my way to see Wall-E.  If the line is huge, I shall turn around and come right back home.

Well, yesterday, just stayed home.  Didn't go anywhere.  Watched fireworks that I recorded last night today.  Not very patriotic of me, huh? :)  Well, I did listen to patriotic music all day yesterday though, does that count?

TOD:

I remember getting up after sleeping in and watching Scooby Doo, Bugs Bunny & Friends, Sigmund & the Sea Monster (LOVED that last show!), etc.  Then mom would fix either pancakes, waffles, or scrambled eggs & hasbrowns & bacon for breakfast.  Nothing like mom's cooking!  I tell you what! :)  Then maybe went shopping with mom to the mall, usually Lloyd Center before they made it an enclosed mall.  It was really cool being an outside mall.  If you are interested, you can see here what it use to look like:
