I also checked out some of the painting and sculpture galleries on the fifth and fourth floors.  I swear, the folks at MoMA must switch out parts of their collection on a weekly basis.  There were a few pieces I had never seen before, as well some pieces regrouped with other pieces for special "Focus" mini-exhibits.

*I decided to take a couple of pics of some of my favorites, but I just wanted to take pictures of sections of them - sort of like an excerpt or study.  Alas, more than once, I had a guard come up to me, "Excuse me, Sir.  You're too close to the art."  After the third or fourth time, I was starting to think they had passed the word around that a "close-looker" was in the galleries, and would not have been surprised if I had been asked to leave.  Thankfully, I was not asked to leave.  -However, I did notice other museum-goers touching some of the architectural models, feeling the ridges on one of the Jackson Pollock paintings, and taking pictures in the "No Cameras" zone with nary a reprimand from anyone...  Except me, of course. ;)

Thanks DR elmore.  Wednesday we are going to see X-Files.  We shall see how he does with that, and then maybe consider the 3-D movie. :)

I would have stayed out a bit longer this afternoon, but I could really feel my blood sugar starting to drop and my tummy starting to rumble.  So, I headed on back home...  However, on the train ride back uptown, I developed a craving for some chili... And since there's a supermarket right at the exit of my subway stop, well...

After combining and cooking up a pound of ground turkey, a can of diced green chiles, a can of black beans, a can of corn kernels, a large can of crushed tomatoes, a diced onion, three gloves of garlic (finely minced - and they were large(!) cloves), some cumin (added in stages), some chili powder (added in stages), some oregano (added in stages), black pepper, red pepper flakes, cayenne pepper, and salt - oh, and a dash of cinnamon (for a "Greek/Cincinatti" touch)...  Dinner!  YUM!!!

I think I once wandered into a leather bar in Portland that was sort of like this!    :-X

And I'm off!  To MoMA that is.

Hmm... They're screening Cecil B. DeMille's 1934 "Cleopatra" tonight, followed by the 1956 "The Ten Commandments".  That's a lot of epic!  -Alas, I missed the 1923 "The Ten Commandments" complete with organ accompaniment.

Funny, that's how I watched it last time too.

At the entrance to "Home Delivery: Fabricating the Modern Dwelling" they have set up a small movie screen where they are showing Buster Keaton's "One Week".  It's basically about a wedding gift - a pre-fab house - gone awry.

That's funny...my DH and I went to see this ay Eyedrum last Friday night, along with an amazing film called Der Lauf der Dinge (The Way Things Go). You can see a clip of it on their website:

http://snipurl.com/eyedrum

and then just imagine it as a half hour film! Very fun!

We had this happen to us years ago, the entire crew was pulled off and we had to wait for a new one.  This of course was due to a long delay.  Waiting for the new crew extended our delay another hour or two.
I had this happen to me many years ago on a TRAIN!  The engineer's hours ran out (due to a crash on the Grapevine which held up connecting busses converging on Bakersfield), and we had to wait for several more hours at a tiny station somewhere between Bakersfield and Fresno.  A most unpleasant experience.

Especially after someone decided to trash the bathrooms.   :P

On the Metro-North trains up to Poughkeepsie - the end of the line - sometimes the conductors will make "Please use the facilities while we are still in Grand Central" announcements.  -Especially on days when the train is full.  Apparently, the lavatories on the train have a limited capacity.  :o

A leather bar is the kind of place where der Brucer and I met.

Mike's Corral was the name.

And we were both game.

Home after my first day back at work - I'm pretty tired.  My intent is to go to bed just as soon as The Closer ends.

I, too, am home after a long day at work.  I am tired, but I will fix some dinner.  I will take a bath.  I will watch some TV.  I will then go to bed.

And I will "hope" to awaken in the morning.

Almost like DR MBarnum's version of one, only they dance as well.

I am so lucky I've missed those trips!

When traveling by train I try to limit my intake of fluids & food.  While training from Milan to Venice we rode with a lovely & very interesting couple from Mexico.  They were originally from Spain, met in Mexico and had been Flamingo dancers.  Of all things, the woman & I discussed our concerns of getting dehydrated in order to avoid the bathrooms. ;D
