Good morning, all! I slept until 9 am, and I have various and sundry projects today: initiate the MTI work on THE MOST HAPPY FELA, hit the NYPL and maybe see a movie, DR Jose?

I thought, BK, your assessment of FOLLIES was excellent, there's been nothing like the original and will never be again. Of course, I feel the same way about the oiginal productions of COMPANY, HELLO, DOLLY!, 1776, and several others I was lucky to have seen. The irony is that I was lucky to see superb Lincoln Center revivals of CAROUSEL, OKLAHOMA!, and KISMET years ago, not to mention the revivals of ON YOUR TOES and OKLAHOMA! at the Palace, and I find "creative folk" today are unable to approach that work today.  The only exception I've seen is the current SOUTH PACIFIC.

On the other hand, I saw Kenley productions of FINIAN'S RAINBOW and WHERE'S CHARLEY? and Cincinnati Opera productions of THE MUSIC MAN and CAROUSEL that do make some of the past 20 years' inept revivals look like genius, so what do I know?

re: my bbq inquiry from last night (i said that i had turned off the gas but one burner was left on and 2 hours later it was still lit).

I asked my dad and he thinks i didn't turn off the gas. But i am sure i did, since i doublechecked it when i noticed one side was still lit (and it is clearly marked "close" and open").

His other idea is possibly there is a bit of gas leaking?  Which does not sound like a good thing!

I'm annoyed with myself that i left one burner on. I never do that. But i decided to make some hot dogs after i'd already cooked. So i turned off one side (or i thought i did). When i do the close the gas ritual at the end it is easier to turn everything off at once.

I'm supposed to make (well put in the oven) a ham for my niece tonight.
I wonder what veggies she would like with it.

DR MATTH thanks for posting the picture of the Annette Disney Treasure.  I pre-ordered mine when DR MBARNUM sent me the link earlier this week.

I guess the SRP of the Disney Tins is now $32.99.....whew!

Well there's nothing like a front page picture of yourself in the newspaper to make you realize that...well you MUST lose weight.

Good morning!

Another day at the mercy of this heat wave, but hopefully beginning tomorrow, we'll have a little relief. Oh, it's been SO hot and miserable.

I start to believe something is really going to happen when I see cover art like that. So I was very escited. I'm excited about DR. SYN, too, but since no one here has expressed much interest in it besides me, I didn't waste space in the photo file uploading a picture of it, too.

I am anxious about DR SYN, too, but I would just as soon have THE LEGEND OF DICK TURPIN that featured Leonard Whiting as Jimmy and David Weston as Dick.

I saw the UPS man drop a box off on the side porch. I don't think that's from Disney, so the Blu-ray that comes out next week still isn't here. I suspect that's going to be more Paramount TV box sets (NCIS I know is coming and something else, too.)

Well, if you just link to the file/image, you won't take up space on the server...

If DR. SYN sells well, I suspect we'll get some of those other serials from the Disneyland TV show.

And I keep waiting for ZORRO, too.

At some point today, I'll go to On Demand and watch Sunday's episode of MAD MEN in HD. That might be what I watch while I'm eating lunch today.

Otherwise, it looks like I'll be watching more episodes of DEXTER today unless NIXON on Blu-ray arrives.

The camera does add ten pounds, don't you know?

As for me, I obviously walk around with at least five cameras on me.

The legend of the Chinese Terra Cotta Warriors is fascinating and I am interested to see how they fold it into the Mummy story....and of course Brendan Fraser!
