And that's why it's taking you so long to lose weight, and that's why, as soon as you go off your diet, you will regain any weight you lost and probably 10 pounds as well.
By eating only 1,000 calories a day, your body thinks its starving and is conserving as much energy as possible. And when you start eating more than 1,000 calories a day, your body is going to take all those "extra" calories and put them into fat and make sure they don't go away.
I know it sounds paradoxical, but if you'd eat 2,000 calories a day, you'd lose just as much weight, and you'd have a much better chance of keeping it off.
