DR Jane, vibes for getting better very soon! It sounds like you had exactly what I had a few weeks back. It was not fun.

I spent a good deal of the evening on the telephone chatting with various friends. Didn't get nearly as much watched as I wanted, but it was good to catch up.

I did get the rest of the episodes (7 of them) watched on the WAYSIDE SCHOOL DVD set. There were some funny ones; the show is definitely one of those cartoon series like BULLWINKLE that can appeal to both children and adults, though it certainly lacks the satirical edge and in-jokes of ROCKY AND BULLWINKLE.

The discs offered no bonus features at all (I scoured the internet to find out that this series is produced in Canada). The package did include, however, a copy of the paperback book the series is based on: SIDEWAYS STORIES FROM WAYSIDE SCHOOL. It's the first in a series of three books by the author about these precocious youngsters and their flighty teachers.

I did continue watching INTERVIEW WITH A VAMPIRE, but I still have about an hour or so more to go. I cut everything off early so I could come upstairs and finish up with the review before it got too late.

I'll probably need to pull the INTERVIEW WITH A VAMPIRE DVD off the shelf in the next few days to see how much of a jump there is to the video quality from the DVD to this HD broadcast.

I may take tomorrow off and have a day just for me. I still have TRANSFORMERS on the DVR plus episodes of THE MOLE, L&O: CI, and tonight's MAD MEN to watch. Plus tomorrow night will bring another episode of THE CLOSER, so lots to see tomorrow.

Then I'll tackle the NIXON Blu-ray on Tuesday.

Whew! My eyelids suddenly got very heavy so I'm shutting everything down now and heading downstairs to bed.

Good night!

Back from a very long rehearsal, some drama, and a great meal at Genghis Cohen.

I had to make a difficult decision today to replace one of our actors - someone I really like.  Unfortunately, this person had too much on the plate - rehearsing another show, and just wasn't able to concentrate to the fullest.  Plus, there was a lot to sing, and the performer just couldn't hear the pitches, or rhythms, and when you're working this fast you don't have time to drill it.  So, someone new is coming in and will be having a trial by fire tomorrow.  The person will arrive at my house at 12:30 and we'll go over the material, then two of our other actors will be coming over to walk stuff - the blocking part is pretty easy, and this person did take part in the last reading we did, and actually sang some of this material.  I just sent the script, mp3s, and sheet music via e-mail.  And, of course, there's nothing that really needs to be learned by heart except the tunes.

For the second time in a month, this credit card thing reared its ugly head - the restaurant made a mistake on the bill, voided out the first charge, and then charged anew.  I should have put my foot down and said absolutely not, just charge the mistake amount separately.  But they assured me they don't even put the charges through till midnight.  I stupidly believed them, got home, checked paypal, and there they were, both charges.  I called the restaurant and told them they had to fix this tonight, and if paypal needed a fax tomorrow morning, they had to do that.

Did you get a "Void" slip from the restaurant?  If so, then it should drop off when they reconcile their accounts at the COB.  I'm sure those charges that you're seeing on your account are "authorizations" and not charges.  -Now, if you used your card as Debit card, well, that would be different.

I did get a void slip - hopefully, it will be corrected after midnight tonight.  If not, they said they'd do whatever's necessary tomorrow when they open.

That would be very nice.  What plays do you have tickets to see?

I can't remember off the top of my head but next time you see me on here ask again and I'll find out.  My sis is in charge of that department! :)

The last time we went to Canada (3 years ago) the exchaneg rate was approx $1.50 CAN for each $1 US, I was just advised that this year we can expect to receive $0.90 CAN for $1 US

heck of job Georgie!

Don't blame this Georgie! ;) And when Dubya got into office, gas was $1.35 a gallon. :P

I've been watching some of the Olympics.  The 4x100m men's relay was pretty darned exciting!  But it seems like it's all about keeping "Michael Phelps' dream alive" of winning eight gold medals in one Olympics.
