Oh, PS, Anthony has fallen in love with Smilies. Since we have dial-up at home he doesn't use them much because the AOL dial-up program is so clunky it's hard to find and use them. He doesn't have dial-up in Wisconsin and he uses AOL.com. Well, the smilies are sitting there just waiting to be used and most e-mails I receive from him have at least one smiley if not more.

I'm finally seeing Wall-E on Saturday with a friend. She has seen it twice already and loves it and can't wait to go with me.

I have to fill out my Day Log and then go home, eat dinner and then go to the movie.

WallE, which I consider to be one of the best pictures of the last twenty years has, as I predicted it would, become what will probably be the lowest grossing Pixar film ever (with adjusted dollars for the early ones).  I just don't get it, but then I don't get a lot of what makes show business tick these days.

James Bond fans, Rejoice!

Today's Amazon "Gold Box" item is the 007 collection -- 21 titles for just under $100, or $4.57 per disc.

These are the four boxes that were issued a couple of years ago...all remastered and splendiferous (IMO).  Of the ones I've watched since getting the set in an earlier Gold Box offering, they looked spectacular on my plasma HDTV upconverted through my HD-DVD player.

If you kicked yourself the last time this deal was offered (a markdown of 67%), now's the time to snap it up before it's gone again.

And those are the two disc James Bond sets, BTW, not the single disc versions which sell separately. To get all the special features, you need the ultimate collection discs.

I was able to get all of the Ultimate Collection discs I wanted through Ebay sellers (I didn't need another version of the awful MOONRAKER or A VIEW TO A KILL), but if I didn't have the ones I wanted, I would certainly be tempted to do this.

The Blu-ray versions of six of them come out this fall.

If so, I would be VERY excited to see it on a theater screen. I've only ever seen it on TV/DVD.

Maybe there haven't been enough Wall-E commercials.

I have mentioned the movie to just about everyone I know and not as single person was even aware of the film.

I began my afternoon with CAMP ROCK on Blu-ray. To say it's a Disney teen flick by-the-numbers is to be kind to it. The story is really trite (though I guess if you're young and haven't seen many movies, it might seem fresh). The music wasn't good, and the choreography is rather uninspired.

Both HIGH SCHOOL MUSICALs and JUMP-IN look like masterpieces compared to this.

I started watching the bonus features on the disc. There are two music videos, a singalong button you can turn on and have lyrics subtitled as the movie plays, and then there's karaoake mode where the lead vocals are filtered out and the viewer gets to sing lead for all 13 songs.

Then I began on the behind the scenes featurettes. The first is exclusive to Blu-ray, a tour of the sets by one of the supporting actors in the movie. The in-joke is that Joe Jonas turns up at every place we visit (and an oc screen counter records how many times he pops up during the 6 minute tour: 10 times.

There are a bunch more featurettes and one rather long documentary about "being a rock star" that lasts almost 40 minutes. All of that is to come.

I'm hoping to get done with it tonight by the time BURN NOTICE comes on so I can watch it "live."

Yes, Matt, it's Judy's Summer Stock. They have begun to show some of the films on DVD and depending on how it's formatted, it can be a bit off visually but it will still be great to see it on a big screen. I've only seen it on TV/DVD also. When they showed A Star is Born it was on DVD and some shots were muddy and blurred at the edges but, like SS it was great to see it on a big screen.
