Hello, everyone.

Matt and I spent the morning in the garden, planting the new azaleas, pruning, and weeding. I still need to decide what to put on the other fence, but things are coming along nicely.

We have had a surprisingly comfortable summer--80's rather than 90's, and less humidity. I am THANKFUL, THANKFUL. It makes life so much easier.

If one were near my condo today, one might catch the scent of mystery.....

I should think many people have gotten their Scent Of Mystery CDs over on the film music board, and yet there has not been one single posting about it.

Back from the long jog - difficult today, but productive, too.  I've been struggling over two short lines of a lyric in the new Eunice song (in Nudie Musical - this is try number five or six), and they came to me on the jog.  Also, I thought of a couple of new lines of dialogue to help the setup, so that was all very good.

I forgot to mention one of the things I picked up yesterday was a new, sealed copy of the Warners Best Buy exclusive World Without End/Satellite In The Sky DVD.  These have been impossible to find - Warners severely underpressed and I searched every Best Buy in LA and no one had them, nor did they have them on the website.  Why?  Because all the eBay and amazon sellers went and bought up every copy, which they're selling for $40 and up, and people are paying those prices.

So, the first person who'd like this can have it - it was list price ($14.99) and since I got it using trade, no sales tax.

Lucky you. No sign or scent here. They probably take longer to reach the East Coast.

Well, me and six GUESTS.  How unseemly.  You'd think it was a Sunday or something.

Bruce, it is on their website, it is just listed as 70s Sci fi or some silly thing...they don't have them listed under the film titles, and it is the same lame setup at the stores. Our Best Buy had them in stock, they were just not in alphabetical order by title.

I heard from DR Jane today and she is doing as well as can be expected...still not feeling good and still a bit emotional due to her mother in law's passing. Also, she found out the other day that her very dear friend has brain cancer...so she could use some vibes, that is for sure.

She said to tell everyone hello and she will be back on the board soon.

Finished watching RUNAWAY DAUGHTERS (1956). I liked it better then the first time I saw it. At 90 minutes it is a bit too long for an AIP film, but the juvenile cast is fun, but the highlights are seeing Adele Jergens and Lance Fuller chew up the scenery as a couple of crooks.

Another day that turned quickly hot from cool. I guess it's typical for this time of year.

And it's clouding up a bit now so we may get some rain.

I managed to fit in five episodes of NCIS today. That took care of disc 3. On to disc 4 when I head back down.

My favorite episode in the group I watched this afternoon was one involving a "super Marine," one who had been fed steroids so he could actually qualify to get into the Marines. The actor playing the Marine had a beautiful build, again very muscular but not overpumped, but played the "'roid rage" scenes very convincingly.

I managed to get through five episodes because there were no commentaries or bonus features on that disc. The disc tonight has, I believe, two commentaries.

I only know what I read on various boards - that no one could find these DVDs - and they knew where to look, both online and in stores.  Certainly my local Best Buy didn't have two of them.

I started watching Bobby Deerfield - I remember seeing it twice back when it came out so I must have liked it, but so far it's fairly dreary, at least for the first fifteen minutes.  But the Dave Grusin score is brilliant.  I'm now listening to Bernard Herrmann's The Night Digger, and then I'll go back to the movie.  Five hours to dinner.

Touch Connors?

Yep, that was his original screen name. He was billed that way in a FUGITIVE episode I watched some months ago. Must have changed it to "Mike" soon after.

I remember it being the first Al Pacino movie that truly disappointed me. I found it a very tedious film to sit through.

Now, I'm going to write for just a bit, and then head downstairs to finish up with today's chores and then get back to Gibbs, McGee, DiNozzo, and company.
