Great photos, DR Jose!

Thanks, DR Ginny!

And that's why I love the Reservoir so much.  Well, part of why I love the Reservoir so much.  ;)

DR Cilla, my beautiful Sir Lancelot enjoyed going for car rides with me.  He would sit on my shoulder (hey, I was 17) and ride with me.  We often went to the park & curled up under a tree while I read a book.

I think Bosco would have gone anywhere with Belle, she just didn't want to do it on a leash.  The big problem is what to do with the cat once you get there.  A quiet park or the security of the car are fine, not so shops & crowds.

Of course there is no guarantee a new kitten would oblige my expectations for it.  ;D

When I was in the 8th grade, they split up the boys and girls for a special one-day health class.  Our gruff old biology teacher was pushed into service teaching the boys.  I think they showed us some film featuring Mr. Sperm and Mrs. Egg, but the movie was probably made back in the 30's.  Finally the old biology teacher got up in front of all these eager and curious young men and said, "Keep it in your pants, boys.  Just keep it in your pants."

And that was the end of our special health class.

The issue is not how it happens, or what happens - the issue is how to prevent it from happening.

...And as far as leaving it totally up to the parents... Well, it's well documented and known that many parents are not educated not comfortable in passing on the proper information to their children.  There needs to be Sex Ed classes for adults too.

... my father would arrange an abortion for me.  Remember, it was illegal back then.

Illegal, but not at all uncommon. The hospital in which I worked in the 50's had row after row of women admitted for D&C's. Middle-class white girls had little trouble terminating unwanted pregnancies (as long as they fessed-up soon enough).

*I was kind of surprised at how well the lower-resolution of the iPhone camera actually worked for some of those pics.  The blues blew me away.

Amazing!

Well... When I was in 8th Grade, Father Cilinski took the boys into the auditorium, and one of the Nuns took the girls into another room. After Father Cilinski basically told us the "facts of life" - complete with his own chalkboard drawings of the male and female genitalia (which were sooooo not drawn to scale, although...), we were shown some "morning after" film that starred David Cassidy.  Needless to say, the film was already a bit dated by the time we were watching it, and was more of a good laugh rather than an educational experience. ;)

I had cats that liked to travel when young, but later didn't like it so much. I used to take Nilla and later Callie to the lake with me - until Nilla went crazy.   I'm not saying cats don't travel and maybe if they start out always traveling as kittens, they might. But I would never take a cat shopping or to to a place where it could be spooked.  I personally think they are just different from dogs and may actually enjoy a nice nap while the family is away

If you take Sherlock who knows, the cat may go "Phew! Now I can nap""   I think that's what they do. Either that or turn on the tv or the stereo and party down until they hear the car coming :)

Oh, it is more the hassle of what to do with one cat when we travel with Sherlock.   We once considered getting an RV, that would have worked well with a cat.  A big wet dogs going back into an RV is not fun!  We did that with Echo ;D

True - and McCain is not ant-gay. (Much to the great distress of the gay-left, LCR today endorsed McCain.)

I have always flet better about bringing in a sitter for the kids, rather than taking them to a kennel.  After all, it's their house, why should they have to leave?

Plus, the sitter can check on the house.  I've had a couple occasions where I was really glad that the sitter was coming to see the girls to discover issues at the house that needed to be taken care of
