Back from the long jog.  It's not going to be one of THOSE days, is it?  I should think the errant and truant had better get their collective butt cheeks back to this here site or else there will be A BITCH-SLAPPING TO REMEMBER, starring Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr.  I must away for a couple of hours, and I do hope I return to some postings or it will be Salad Days around these here parts.

TOD: spring mix, assorted salad vegetables, and Cheese Fantastico reduced fat dressing.

I also like pasta salad, potato salad, and broccoli salad.

This morning I went for my usual hike, then my DS and I had a cup of coffee.

Good Afternoon!

Greetings from MoMA... Where I am currently standing in line to get into the Van Gogh exhibit one more time (at least). And it looks like the staff here are getting a preview of what the lines will be like once the exhibition opens up to the public tomorrow. The Members Only line was about a hundred deep when I got here, but it moved fast.  However, I've already seen a couple of exasperated faces on some staff members this afternoon. -Hopefully, none of them will get to the point where they would get the urge to chop off an ear - their own or otherwise.

DS Zach has a treat in store today--his best friend's birthday party is going to be held at Laika Studios, where the friend's stepdad is currently working on Henry Selick's new movie "Coraline."  So they will get to see all the models and sets.  I wish I could go, but I'm playing a wedding right then.  Damn these nuptially minded people.

...And as I was leaving the exhibit a few minutes ago, the line to get in was already snaking its way through the zig-zag, through the foyer and down the hallway... past Café 2. --I may just have to come back to see how long lines get after today. They will be distributing timed tickets, but I have a feeling it could get "entertaining". ;)

Good morning.  All i have to say is let the time flow, let the love grow, let the rain shower, let the rose flower - yeah, I'm still stuck on watching different youtube takes on the ANGIE theme.

I'll be an expert on the differences between season 1 and season 2 opening montages.  And as someone noted on youtube, ABC shows back then really did enjoy putting their stars in those little circles while the opening songs played.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uenud_vexZA

I loved the show, ANGIE, and I thought I would recognize the theme song when I heard it, but it drew a total blank.

I loved the show too, although, there were times when I wished it was called, "Brad". ;)

TOD
When I was at the Naval Academy, our illustrious chef Louis LaForge imported a Washington DC specialty - Senate Salad. The main tables had theirs served from a giant polished mahogany bowl on loan from the Senate (it was a gift from the Philippine Government).

The salad consisted of mixed greens adorned with bay shrimp, green pepper, green onion, and walnuts encapsulated in a savory tomato aspic.

Really good!

I am sorry to say I don't know any of those people, with the exception of Leslie Nielson, who lives in Phoenix and does commercials for a local credit union.

But how can you see the commercials without a television ?  ???

Thanks, DR Ron Pulliam! I knew you were thinking it yesterday! And I really had a good day. In fact, I wish all days went so well. The only aggravation was that awful theatre where we saw BONNIE & CLYDE: awful lobby situation, terrible seats that need replacing, terrible box office access. NYMF should be bitch slapped for using that venue.

It stars Manoj Kumar and Sadhana.

Speaking of "Enter Laughing" the movie, I urge all Hainsies and Kimlets in the New York area to see "Enter Laughing" the musical at the York Theatre.  It just extended its run by two weeks (late October) but there is another show coming in after that so unless it moves or returns in January, that could be your last chance.  It got a rave in the Times, 4* in the Post and great reviews from other publications and internet sites and is one of the funniest musicals I have ever seen.  For a 25% discount, use the code DAVID (although I don't know if that code is good for the extension).

Is this a different musical than STAGE STRUCK, which was also a musical version of ENTER LAUGHING (which I happen to own the CD)?

My dear friend, Sharry O'Hare and I cut our comic-timing teeth in ENTER LAUGHING back in the 70s.  I was the drunken theater director and star; and she played my daughter.

I am currently wending my way through "Here Is Every", which is basically a representation of Art and "un-Art" from the past 40 years. It's quite a fascinating exhibit. However, all I can really say about it right now is: There is a lot of penis on display here.

Methinks perhaps DR Elmore did not take my MISPRIZE PARTY statements as a Happy Birthday wish, so I'll paraphrase Bonnie & Clyde the movie to say--you're young, you're in love and you kill people.  Happy Birthday.  ;)

I don't know from STAGE STRUCK, but I do know from SO LONG, 174th STREET, which is what I believe this used to be called.

You are, of course, correct.  I was confusing it with another nightmare show.

Um... No. I was actually looking at a photograph that was framed in a frame of "self-lubricating plastic". Then I came across a large-scale sculpture made of the same material. The aforementioned penises were done in acrylics and collage.

The plural "penes" sounds more eloquent.

Why wasn't Robert Hays a bigger star?  Especially after AIRPLANE and AIRPLANE II.
