TCB if you can't make a second post e-mail me exactly what happens when you try.  I've now offered to pay my webhost another hourly fee if they can just go in and get this working.

I've heard back from the software company people - I gave them the password and username and I guess they'll go in and try to figure it out.  Webhost wasn't willing to do it but sent me their thoughts on what it might be and I've forwarded that to Bakalor and the software people.  Fingers crossed.

I'm going to my dinner meeting in a few minutes - do keep trying and see if anything changes.  Hopefully, the software people will attempt to fix, and if not them, maybe Bakalor, with the new info I've sent him, might be able to do something further.

One good thing with the upgrade - those ads all seem to be gone now.

Well, I'm hoping that by the time I get home I'll see ten more pages of postings.  That said, I haven't heard a peep from Wechter.  We were going to meet at seven, but he said to wait until he called, just in case he was running late.  Now it's ten to seven and I'm about to faint from hunger so I may just go over there and get a salad or some wings to tide me over.

I am typing this on my new toy, the iPod touch. Beats lugging around a 17" laptop that I can only use when it's plugged in!

Good evening (an Alfred Hitchcock reference)!

Nice to be back home after not being able to access the board. I'm SO sorry for all this trouble as I know it's driving you mad, bk.

Obviously, it was back on this afternoon but I only wised up and checked the notes page to get bk's update or I would have gone to bed thinking everything was still broken.

So, got a message from the guy at the software company - he's adjusted something and asked people who were unable to post more than once to try again.  He hasn't been able to find anything else, but will do a more in-depth look tomorrow morning if we're still having this problem.

If someone could log off, clear cache, log on, try to post and tell me exactly what happens, that would be great - or if there's still no reply button.  I want to send as much info as I can.

Okay, this is really George.  Once I made my first post this morning, all the links and buttons to reply, quote, modify, etc., disappeared.  It was as if I could post only once, and then never again.  And I noticed that each person has only posted once.  Also, I couldn't view anyone's profile, not even mine!  However, when I logged out, I could view profiles.  How weird is that??  So, I created this new screen name to see what happens when a new profile is created in the new board.  We'll see!!

BK, the reply, quote, modify buttons are still here!  I hope we don't all have to create new profiles to be able to use this new board, but it seems to work.

However, when I click "post" (I'm using Mozilla Firefox on my PC, if that matters), it posts, but kicks me back to the Daily Discussions page. :P

I logged off, cleared my cache, shut down the computer completely and restarted, cleared the cache again and still no reply button.

I also cannot view any profiles, if I click on someones name  I get a message saying : Apologies you cannot view just anyone's profile"  if I click on my own name I get the message :"Apologies you cannot view your own profile"

I just tried re-registering and there were the buttons at the bottom, I see George  and I have been working alongthe same lines at the same time

Wonder what happens when I hit the button again....

I hope this answers your questions BK because  its bedtime for this girl

But if we all DO have to create new profiles, at least all those fake profiles will be gone. ;)

It's clear there is a problem - everyone can post once and that's it.  Except for Mark and I, because we're mods.  Something needs to be switched on somewhere in the permissions, and I guess a perfunctory look-see by the software guy didn't reveal anything to him.  He said he'd take an in-depth look in the morning, and I've sent him a few of your comments so he knows exactly what's going on.  We'll just have to hang tight, I'm afraid.  Bakalor is obviously gone for the evening and it is doubtful he'll do anything further tonight.  I'm hoping by morning we'll be fixed.

I do laugh at the "Warning - while you were reading a new reply has been posted. You may wish to review your post" that comes up.

I am having exactly the same experience.. here George... maybe that's the solution we all need new profiles... I'm not happy about that solution but that may be the one we're stuck with

I'm trying to do a quote to see what happens.

So it may be BK with 42000 plus posts and the rest of us starting over, lol

Hey!  We can quote within a quote again! :D
