Good morning!

Cool again but it promises to be a bit warmer today - into the 70s. Nice start to fall.

Last night my Pops Choir surprised me with a big brownie cake and cookies for my upcoming celebration of not being quite dead yet on Monday.  It was very nice as DS Betsy is in Reno and thus will not be able to provide me with the standard chocolate cake that many of you have sampled whilst at our semi-lovely home, at least on my natal day.

I had to review the Daredevil Director's Cut as part of a massive Marvel boxed set that came out a few months ago.  I found it the most turgid of the films included in the set.  Ben Affleck in red vinyl just doesn't do it for me, sorry.

I forgot to mention PROJECT RUNWAY last night in my summation of the evening viewing.

I certainly thought the winner's design deserved it, even if there was too much billowing of the layers in the front. By far the most interesting dress, and I'll be very shock if this contestant doesn't show at Bryant Park.

I DESPISE Kenley with every fiber of my being. A snottier, more unaccommodating presence has never been on the show. And that design! It looked like the Little Mermaid on PJ. I cannot believe they didn't eliminate her.

TOD:

DVDs:  toggling between Blu-Ray Grey's Anatomy 4 and the new boxed set of 8 Horatio Hornblower movies.  I also have been trying, after several aborted attempts. to finish Charlie Chan & The City in Darkness.

CDs:  re-recorded El Cid, which confirms that the lyric I have for the theme is indeed the "correct" version.  Also got a kind of strange/funny Japanese singer that Sergio Mendes and Dori Caymmi produced back in the 1980s, which has been "interesting" to listen to.

I'll be working on the SOUTH PARK/Cartman compilation 2-disc set today. Should be fun.

A snottier, more unaccommodating presence has never been on the show.

"I'm going to kill you, Snotty."  --from the first Horatio Hornblower movie.  See how culturally adept this series has made me?

Edi, not quite sure if he was doing the Time Warp or something, but your friend Bill Van der Kloot just emailed me in response to my review of his doc that I did months ago.

Don't know about the Marquee but to stop the warning

Go into your Profile and click Look and Layout Preferences. After that click the box next to

   Show board descriptions inside boards.
Show child boards on every page inside boards, not just the first.
   Don't show users' avatars.
   Don't show users' signatures.
Return to topics after posting by default.
X Don't warn on new replies made while posting.
Show most recent posts at the top.
Show most recent personal messages at top.

That will stop the warning

DR Ben, as I washed out my oatmeal bowl this morning I thought of you.

Glad to hear you're eating oatmeal. I've influenced you or else your nutrionist has  ;D

Once you get into the habit it's easy to include oatmeal in your diet, even when you want 2 eggs over easy, a side of bacon, whole wheat toast with butter and jam, home fries and coffe with half and half.

Ooops, sorry got carried away there with some memories.

Does anyone know if our HHW God status will be returning? I would think it's a simple text change. I mean, what would MISS KAREN do? She'd have to hand out medals instead of togas. Not exactly the HHW image, IMHO.

I rarely watch this show but I caught the last half hour of this episode and Imust say that I'm surprise she has stuck around. Her behavior is infantile by any standard and the dress that I saw does not make me think she's a designer despite her repeated affirmations to the contrary. It just reinforces my belief that much of "reality" television is based on what the producers want, not on real talent. They must have some conflict so they keep a childish, whining contestant who is unable to take any criticism so she will provde a level of confrontation for the remaining episodes.

DR Ben,

You also set me on the path to daily oatmeal, and after a month, I could certainly tell a difference. I started back in January, so oatmeal has been a daily occurrence since then (with only two or three days where I skipped it to have morning doughnuts with friends).

Yes, "Hero Member" doesn't have quite the same impact as "HHW God." But here's another shout-out of thanks to bk and others for getting things back to a relatively smooth running state.

DR Jose, are we still on tomorrow at 4:30 for I COME FOR LOVE at NYMF?

I am actually seeing a NYMF show this year. A friend is in That Other Woman's Child at 37 Arts. I'm seeing it Sunday afternoon.

Regarding Hairspray closing. I think it's time. I loved it when I saw it the first time. It had energy and spark and was great fun. The audience loved it and the cast loved doing it. I saw it last year though and I thought it was tired and lacking energy. IIRC I saw Lance Bass in the show. As they used to say in the old days, "I'm sure he's very nice to his mother"

OFFICIAL MOONLIGHT DVD RELEASE DATE ANNOUNCED

A couple weeks ago, we gave you obsessive Moonlight fans a "bite" of good news regarding the future release of the blood-sucking series' DVD.

Well, now we have an actual date to sink your teeth into. The complete series will be released Jan. 20, 2009, after the holiday season as earlier predicted. The four-disc set will contain all 16 episodes, but no details on what sort of bonus material will be included (if any) have been released.

I'm just catching up on the posts from yesterday. And i saw DR Jane's comments about the messages in our PM box.

So i went to check. And wow. That is so odd. When you click on one you see them all as posts. Very odd.

Like DR RonP said there is no "today's column" to click on. So you have to go to haineshisway.com to see the notes.
