Today, most men who go bare-chested or show their chests on TV have shaved chests.

And it should be outlawed!!!!

Absolutely!! ;D

And I had to shave my chest for a role.  It was not pleasant. :P

Edith has decided that we will be doing some fast walking every noon.  She stopped me this noon as she was heading out the door and said we were going to walk for 10 minutes on the skywalks.  It turned out to be 12 minutes and since she's in good shape it was a fast pace, just right for me, I could talk and walk but any faster and I would have been winded.   With her pushing me, I may really do this.  The next step will be by November 1 - no elevators unless in heels or carrying something. We'll see, but it's a good goal

A lot of the government building in DC have sign posted next to the elevators with:

Walk Up One, Down Two

I wish hotels would make the stairs more accessible.  More often than not they seem to only be for emergencies, and the looks I get asking WHERE they are so I can use them. ::)

Well, I'm leaving work.  I don't think I'll make it home in time to see the very beginning of the debate, but we'll see.

Until later!

I should mention that I am a waiter once more.  I love being a server.  The restaurant opens on Thursday, but, I was in tonight to help train newbies and will be there picking up tables tomorrow night at the invitational dining which begins at 6pm.  I am one happy camper.

I hadn't mentioned anything previously because I was never sure that this was going to happen.  When Sam Morgan's closed last December 4th, I assumed the finality of that part of my career.   It wasn't until I was approached - through the new owners through a co-worker at Borders - that I even thought about returning to waiting tables.  I've worked with and for the new owners of the restaurant before, and always was respected by and respected them, so naturally, I was honored and surprised to have them request me to be a part of their brand new endeavor.
Now the running joke is that my services come with the building, since I have been employed in that space since 1998. . . ;D

So...

From tomorrow's print edition of The New York Times:

Quote
For instance, Ms. Hopkins said, before committing to a show with a high price tag, the trustees want to know how many tickets are expected to sell and how much underwriting will be needed.

On Broadway the new season is just starting. Four shows — “[title of show],” “Xanadu,” “Hairspray” and “Legally Blonde” — have announced closing dates, and one scheduled musical, “Guys and Dolls,” has been canceled. But most of those decisions were made before Lehman Brothers failed, A.I.G. buckled, and talk of a $700 billion government bailout surfaced.

-I believe the writer meant "Godspell" instead of "Guys and Dolls", unless there's some more news that will be announced tomorrow.

The crepes turned out just so-so.  Yawningly so, in fact.

I've got an early morning tomorrow.  Those yawnings are going to some in handy in just a few minutes.  Night.

On the subject of hairy chests, I noticed tonight that Michael Weatherley is letting his chest hair grow back. His shirt was open a bit during NCIS, and it was clearly there (I don't remember seeing a hairy chest at all two seasons ago during his intense season-long affair with the daughter (played by Scottie Thompson) of that French arms dealer.

I finished the three remaining episodes of MISSION IMPOSSIBLE. What a surprise to find George Sanders as the primary guest star on the season finale in a scenario that resembled CASINO ROYALE more than a little.

Other guest stars in other episodes included Andrew Duggan, William Smith, Marion Ross, and Antoinette Bower.

Since DR td and I have been talking THE PIRATE, I took it down and watched it tonight (with the Fricke commentary turned on since I've watched the movie so many times.)

Sorry, DR td, I guess we will never agree about this. It's sharp and deeply saturated. However, bk would call it brown; I tend to think of it as dark. The color is saturated more than I remembered from the last time I saw it, but in the clips used in the documentary, the picture is a lot brighter and the color sparkles in the previews where in the feature, the color is deep but drab. As I called it yesterday, lackluster.

As I said, that Todd-AO OKLAHOMA! with its blurry soft focus and muddy color and dull picture is INFINITELY more what I would term a disaster.

I skimmed through today's AS THE WORLD TURNS. Nothing. Lucinda and Wheatley are in the previews, so the boys may be on tomorrow.

Then, I watched NCIS. The murderer's identity was very easy to identify, one of the easiest ever.

I did laugh about the Abby "cupcake mystery."
