And then I watched AS THE WORLD TURNS. As I mentioned previously (and so did Jose), the boys were on, and it was nice to see them even if the story progressed not a hair from where they were two months ago.

They were not in the previews for tomorrow.

I have to write for a little bit, and then I'll head down to continue with THE SARAH SILVERMAN bonus features and then tonight's prime time TV line-up.

My boss just arrived to work.

And it's only 2:25 p.m.

I have to wonder...why bother???!!

My boss just placed a Mrs. Fields catalog under my nose and asked if I wanted to see it.

I said "Yes"...just to be polite.

I received notice that my DVD of the latest Indiana Jones film has shipped via DHL.  That means that instead of getting it on Thursday, it won't arrive until Friday.

I wonder what our one guest is thinking while reading these posts?

Does he or she wish he or she had this Mrs. Fields catalog to peruse, for instance?

Does her or she wish he or she had a delicious banana to ingest?

Will he or she ever join HHW.com and become a fledgling hero?

So many questions, so little time...and probably no payoff of any kind.

I don't know if this will help anyone (or if anyone cares), but links to all the avatars from the old board start with this:

"www .haineshisway.com/smf/avatars/..." and then the file name

and the links to all the avatars that have been added to the new board look like this:

"www .haineshisway.com/smf/index.php?action=dlattach;attach=##;type=avatar"

Where I've put ##, there is a number that corresponds to a particular image, but the link itself doesn't end in .jpg.  Weird, huh?

I will admit that I was totally wrong about Herb Alpert becoming popular (but of course, I didn't realize that he was backed by the Mafia).

Please elaborate.

At some point (before or after he started A&R records), they "approached" him and made sure that his records were played on every radio station, every juke box, etc.  Granted, he was talented.  He finally in later years had a breakdown over the pressure.   I believe he got out of the contract with the Mob (which is why you didn't hear much from him for some time).  He revealed all this several years ago.

After the board meeting today, the board moderator and I drained the fish fountain. It was so disgusting that there was nothing else to do. The fish went back whence they came, and the whole thing is empty and drying out.

Anyhoo...

I decided that I need to go for a walk, so I went for one.  It was quite an informative excursion.  I took a path less-travelled - well, more like never-travelled (by me, at least) - and not only did I find a park called the "Sunken Playground", but I also came across the The Morris-Jumel Mansion, which is the oldest house in Manhattan.  Oh, and I also found out that there's a state correctional facility just 20 blocks from my apartment.  Who knew?

And I also had an "altercation" with a young man who was probably no more than nine or ten years old...

He was tossing a football on the sidewalk with some of his friends.  As I neared them, he began to take out his cellphone - it was one of those flip-top deals...

"Hey, can I have your number so that I can call you?"
-I laughed at him... "No."
"Ha, ha, ha... No. Well, you better be careful.  I'm going to take your picture now so that I can rape you later."

WTF?!?!?!?

And after all the sandwich talk yesterday, I went ahead and made a grilled cheese sandwich for tonight's dinner.  Smoke provolone on sunflower-wheat bread. YUM!  -With some of the roasted broccoli and cauliflower I made earlier in the week.

Umm...I've read it...a few times. ;D We have rehearsal tonight and tomorrow and then I'll have most of the weekend to work on it (and to ketchup on some TV watching and DVR erasing).

Then, I watched all six episodes of THE SARAH SILVERMAN PROGRAM - Season 2, Vol. 1. They're only 21 minutes apiece. A really wacky series but definitely some fall down funny moments. In one, she is complaining about discrimination against Jews, and a black waiter overhears her and chastises her for not knowing what real discrimination is. So, she goes to her friend who's an expert make-up artist to make her black for a day so she can experience true prejudice. He makes her up and she emerges as -- a female Al Jolson lookalike with a circle of black on her face and clown white lips. Of course, she gets beaten and chased and goes back to the waiter and agrees that blacks have it far worse than Jews.

I was rolling in the floor laughing.

Hmm...

On tonight's "Jeopardy", there's a category "Broadway Shows By Role".  Alas, three of the five "questions" were originally movies (that were turned into musicals).  :-\

Good Evening!

Are we still on Page 6?!?!?

;)

An  excellent question and I have the answer: Yes!  I guess the fact that the board was down last week and everyone had great pangs is meaningless, because there are way too many errant and truant hainsies/kimlets.

Am I supposed to fast tomorrow or Friday?  Am I supposed to slow on Saturday or Sunday?

Tonight I shall be watching Melville's Dieuxiemme Souflee - very excited to see it.  Then maybe the new Touch of Evil DVD, with three separate versions of the film.  Or the new Sleeping Beauty.  Or the new 7th Voyage of Sinbad.

Edith and I walked again this noon.  I should say powerwalked because she sets a quick pace.  I also started taking the stairs instead of the elevator.  Good grief am I out of shape or what!

But...but....what did the Dutch ever do to you?

(And how the heck can you make them lettuce?)
