It just gets worse. I've just read that uncertainty has now hit the Japanese banking sector:

In the last 7 days Origami Bank has folded.

Sumo Bank has gone belly up.

Bonsai Bank announced plans to cut some branches.

Karaoke Bank is up for sale and will likely go for a song, while today shares in Kamikaze Bank were suspended after they nose-dived.

Samurai Bank has had to cut its staff in half.

Furthermore, 500 staff at Karate Bank got the chop and analysts report that there is something fishy going on at Sushi Bank where it is feared that staff may get a raw deal!

Would you believe I read this whole thing before I realized it was a joke?

Umm... Do you really want an answer to that question?

So...

Just how much would you pay to have a naked tennis lesson with Andy Roddick?

Now, if it was Pete Sampras.....!!

Looking forward to going to the Ken Burns lecture tomorrow night. It was fun to hear him interviewed on the radio this morning.

Our GUESTS really have no clew anymore.  I'd guess we lost three-quarters of them when the board switched addresses - shows what happens when you miss the notes two days in a row.  They probably didn't read the notes anyway, and just figured we folded.  As if.

This is the problem when one stays away.  There are many posts about unsquishing your avatar - search squished and unsquished and you should find easy instructions on how to fix it.

Perhaps I could retrieve the balls.  Anything to do my part to help.

I'm playing some Neal Hefti soundtracks in honor of his passing.

I'm still congested but today was a much better day, with not nearly so much coughing and phlegm.  My voice is still pretty shot, though.

First, I had to set down my cat.  She's quite clingy in the evening.

I watched and recorded tonight's episode of "Eli Stone."  It was very good.  Now, I'm burning a DVD for my friend, Margo (she has no cable).  I also bought the first season DVDs, which Margo can borrow, since I wasn't able to record the first five episodes for her when they were originally broadcast.
