Then I watched KUNG FU PANDA. The animation really was excellent and I was so pleased to see a Dreamworks animated film that wasn't full of topical references that had no relation to the world they had created and a lack of flatulence jokes.

The story was very familar, of course, but the voice cast was so good that it almost didn't matter.

I spent a good amount of time with the bonus features on the disc. Some good and some not so good. There was a demonstartion on how noodles are made, and it's just fascinating to watch. I'd never seen anything like that before. Nice little lesson on how to use chopsticks for those who don't know, too.

Then I watched the second disc that came attached to the first, the new straight-to-DVD animated short SECRETS OF THE FURIOUS FIVE which had a framing story in CGI and the rest in regular 2-D animation. OK, but nothing special. I guess it did get over the lessons about proper attributes to have to be a worthy warrior.

DR Druxy, have you ever been to Ashland?

I drove through Ashland in 1963 when I moved from Seattle to Los Angeles, but since it was pouring down rain at the time, I didn't stop.

I hear it's a very nice place to live.

There were a good many bonus features on that disc, too including a couple of games, some kung fu posing and a dance lesson. These discs really do have things for different interest levels of kids (and adults).

Today I went for a walk (well, a short one).  However, since I forgot my camera and I take crappy photos anyway; here is a photo from Autumn at Butchart Gardens in Victoria, Canada.

I've visited those gardens.  They're beautiful.

Cillaliz: is "the violation of individual rights with the intent to cause serious injury" Iowa's wording for a hate crime?

Aside from scaring me half to death, lentils or beans all over the ceiling were not fun to clean up.

It seems they scare the dogs half to death as well.

And there is a sentence ending with a preposition I can not fix! ( Guess I have to fall back on the "clean up" is a verb excuse.)

Well, darn. I finally came up with the name "The Deadbeat Cabaret Singer" and he has to go and pay. Now what will Elmore have to complain about?

Sherlock is feeling better now that he is off the antibiotics & the prednisone has been reduced by half.  He even went the entire night without needing to go out. :)  He looks much better too.:)  We are still keeping the booties on most of the day & at night.

It was such a beautiful day, unexpected too, so we took him for a walk in town.

You took poor Sherlock to town wearing booties? Oh the shame!

Nice little lesson on how to use chopsticks for those who don't know, too.

There was a discussion on a special use of chopsticks on CSI this week.

Oh, I'm sure he'll figure out something.
