I have just ordered DR DRUXY's book.....looks interesting....  Couldn't tell however if the Payment page was SECURE....there was no notice and my computer didn't have the little LOCK symbol that it usually has on a secure page.

So.....I guess I will just have to watch my online account for the next few days.

I have just been assured by my publisher that the page IS secure.

Thanks.

I look forward to reading DR DRUXY's lively book!

And now I can rest even easier!  Thanks for the info.   ;D

Just discovered that, unlike last time, the DVDPlanet 25offsale code is only good once--so make sure to wait until you know you don't want anything else before you order from them.  As with the last sale, I've found a lot of stuff that's cheaper at Planet than DDD (including Criterion titles).

On tv for me tonight:

So You Think You Can Dance Canada (apparently mia michaels is supposed to choreograph)

Life

Starter Wife (on here on Wednesdays).

But I am most excited about the premiere of Top Chef (this is the first time this series is being shown here at the same time as in the US.

Druxy, just curious--does your book feature a mud wrestling scene between Frances Farmer and Louella Parsons?

Thanks, td and bk, for validating that the HTF site is down. I get paranoid thinking it's just my computer or software that isn't up to the task, so it's comforting to know the problems aren't on my end.

Had I know about that, I certainly would have included it.

Actually, the material I came up with is even more shocking than that.

I guess I'll head down now, check the mail (though I suspect it will be very late since yesterday was a holiday), and then start on lunch preparation.

MattH, the HTF is back up, but you can tell it's been down, since there are no new posts.  I must say, that site is down a lot more than we are.

Good Morning!

I'm up, I'm up... And I'm wondering why they don't just show a "snow screen" in place of "The Martha Stewart Show", since there appears to be multiple layers of gauze on the cameras right now.  ;)

DS Betsy has begun using "friend" as a verb now that she has become addicted to Facebook.  :)  In fact, she asked me last night, "Who is Jose Simbulan, and why has he friended me?"  :)

I am sorry to say that I did miss WALL-E when it was at the theatre. I had intended to take little Taylor and Benjamin to see it but our schedules never coordinated, and my buddy Jim and I had talked about going to see it also, and then like a flash it was gone!

I should have just gone on my own to see it. I actually do enjoy going to the theater to see movies on the big screen. I actually missed several films that I wanted to see this summer...but it was just such a busy summer.

I actually managed to see a number of movies at the multiplex this summer.  I was surprised how much I enjoyed MAMMA MIA and how much I loathed THE DARK KNIGHT.

In the back of my mind all morning I've been hearing the old Cheerios commercial:

Big "G", little "o",
Go with Cheerios!

(Though it's not Cheerios that will be getting my Go going...)

Scott Eckern of California Music Theater has resigned over the Prop 8 flap.

That's too bad.  While I disagreed with him, he didn't do anything unlawful.

It's 7:25 and I'm all alone.

I will go and wash the bowl (when was the last time you heard that?) and move on with the Ford Foundation until the meeting.

I'm listening to the

1920s Radio Network

It's a Charles Pogue kind of radio station and others may enjoy it as well. I offer it to you for your consideration.

Later, gaters.

This is very cool!  I like this era of music.  There's a local AM station that plays music from the '20s to the '70s.  It's the only radio station that I listen to in my car.  Thanks for posting it. :D

On TV Tonight!™

NBC - KNIGHT RIDER, LIFE, LAW & ORDER
CBS - comedies, CRIMINAL MINDS, CSI: NY
FOX - BONES, HOUSE (rerun)
ABC - CMA Awards

Nothing that I want to watch on a night that I DON'T have rehearsal. :P

I hope you will excuse this commercial announcement, but:

I am excited and proud to announce the publication of my newest book, ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLYWOOD: From the Secret Files of Harry Pennypacker.

I had more fun writing this book than anything else I have ever written and I know you will enjoy reading it, too.

Of course, I wouldn’t want you to just spend your valuable time frivolously.

You will learn the secrets Hollywood never wanted you to know when you read this book.  You will be amazed, but definitely better informed than you are now.

The book is now available for pre-order through my publisher and will be shipped in time for Chanukah/Christmas giving.

You can order it on-line by visiting  www.onceuponatimeinhollywood.com

OR, if you are uncomfortable doing business on the internet, you can phone in your order at:
(888) 934-0888 x 100.

Thank you, and enjoy!

Michael

Congratulations! ;D
