Because Richard is still recovering from his cold, we'll have a quiet celebration.

Wasn't that a song from Mary Poppins?

I've always been partial to Putting On The Ritz and I'm Putting All My Eggs In One Basket...the "putting" songs I guess.  In fact, I like all of the score to FOLLOW THE FLEET.

But let's talk my least favourite Irving Berlin songs...A couple of friends and I have an annual argument during WHITE CHRISTMAS as to which is the worst Irving Berlin song..."We'll Follow The Old Man" or "What Do You Do With a General", personally I think the latter...but "Mr. Monotony" may top both of them.

I've always disliked the song "ALWAYS" intensely.

Good morning!

It must have srizzled early this morning since the ground was slightly damp when I went out to get the newspaper. Not getting out of the 50s today, and rain is slated to be off and on all day. So basically, it's a fairly miserably day here.

But none of that is going to get me down unless Best Buy is sold out of Disney tins when I get there.

DR MBarnum, you have to BUY two of the tins to get the discount of 2/$40. Buying one doesn't get you a $20 sale. The price for one is $24.99.

BTW, the sale is available on-line as well.

I'll be finishing up the eight remaining episodes of THE ODD COUPLE this afternoon. I doubt I can do all eight this afternoon, so I may have to finish them up before prime time Tv begins.

I've been waiting all week for the first Blu-ray releases from Criterion: THE THIRD MAN, THE LAST EMPEROR, THE MAN WHO FELL TO EARTH, but they have not arrived. They come out on the 18th, but so far have not found their way to my door.

I still have CSI: NY and LAW & ORDER on the DVR. Depending on how many ODD COUPLE episodes I get finished before UGLY BETTY comes on, I may be able to get one or both of those watched prior to the start of prime time tonight.

AS THE WORLD TURNS spoiler

I guess maybe I was right about Brian Wheatley's closeted status. Reading next week's TV GUIDE last night, I see that there is a kiss in his future with one of our boys (and on his wedding day to Lucinda to boot!)

Well...still, you would think Best Buy would have had at least one sign indicating the 2 for $40 special :(

I guess I should have asked a clerk.

Of course perhaps there was no room for proper signage, what with the shrunken DVD section that our store now has. It used to be huge!

(although the Anime and Blue Ray sections are bigger then ever).

Plenty of time to do your Christmas shopping
We are the people who shop on time . . .

I see nothing but a couple of trips to the post office to mail stuff out.

The Holiday Shopping is DONE!  :D

I believe my holiday shopping is also done, except for one gift...we will draw names later this month, so I do not know yet who I will be buying for of the adults in the family (Salem only).
