Last night, I thought that I was
ushering for the new Warren Miller movie at the Washington Center for the Performing Arts, but it turns out that I actually was signed up to work concessions. Everything worked out fine. It was a fun evening, even though I only saw about five minutes of the movie...out of two performances! We kept the concessions open most of the time and since I was there for two shows, there was no need to break everything down and clean up between the two shows. It flowed very smoothly, although we did run out of most of the beer that we had! Between the two shows, we sold about 250 beers (that's a lot!). I don't know how much wine we sold, but we also sold almost all eight dozen cookies. But the best part was that we split the tips! For the two shows, I got $27!!

I LOVE it when that happens.

And it's a nice way to end an evening of FIVE AND A HALF HOURS of standing! The only time I really got to sit down was when I went to the bathroom (I know, TMI), but that was the kind of evening it was. The audience members were very friendly and no one got too drunk or became a problem. A good time was had by all.
