Here is an interesting interview with the couple that got eliminated last night.

There are some interesting things. First off the ride to the place where they had to eat for the fast forward challenge took 1 hour to get to (each way). They were there for 20-30 minutes. That put them at a 2 1/2 hour disadvantage. But they only lost by 7 minutes. I am mad!

sorry their names are included in the link. I was trying to shorten the link in case anyone had not seen the show. Just add www.

Well rats.  Target realized it's mistake on the car seats and is canceling the orders.  They have it written in their fine print that they don't have to honor mispriced items, so there's nothing we can do about it.  Should have known it was too good to be true...

I'm sorry Ann.  I didn't know stores had statements like that in the fine print.  I didn't know they could even do it.  Did they offer the car seat for an extra special oops price?

Almost all stores have a "We are not responsible for errors..." clause.  It doesn't even have to be posted on the circular, it just has to be posted be somewhere in the store and/or office.

TAR was fun last night. And I was happy to see the departing team depart! LOL!

And what a ninny. I cannot believe the trouble people on TAR have with the eating challenges. I would have no problem what-so-ever eating any of those items that the have to eat in various countries. The food last night made me downright hungry!

I think Nick and Star were smart not to read what it is they were eating.  Makes it much easier not to know you're eating goat butt

This week's "Grey's Anatomy" has a long way to go to make up for that mess of a show last Thursday.

I hope we've heard the last of "Di" and "Deth".  I visited a blog where someone was discussing that show and the writer's kept referring to "Der" and "Mer".  I nearly fwowed up.

I guess they just usually honor the errors.  This was a biggie & with profits dropping...

I enjoyed last night's TAR. I love it when they all catch up to each other and it's a real race rather than just luck with making plane reservations.   I think the mother and son are quickly becoming my favorite team.  I like Nick and Star, but it's almost been too easy for them.

I'm always surprised that the contestants think that any sort of foreign, strange food that they would be made to eat would be "dangerous" for them.  -On this show, or any sort of other "dare" like on "Survivor".  The producers are not looking for lawsuits.  And, yes, it's always smarter NOT to know what you're eating.  Sometimes the "name" is more of a turn-off than the taste and texture.

I think it's often the quantity of food they have to eat in a hurry that causes some of the "need to barf" feeling

I dunno. I could lose a lot of pounds on the all-you-can-eat goat butt diet.

Congratulations Bruce.  I think I ate too much today & will be lucky not to gain any of my big 1 pound loss back.

OOH!!!!

Back to the Topic of the Day...

Musicals: "Quilt" - Which was one of the first revues inspired by the stories from the AIDS Memorial Quilt panels.

Movies: "Parting Glances"  -I can't believe that one slipped my mind initially.  And it was restored/preserved last year too.

And from recent years: "A Home At the End of the World"

I forgot PERSONAL BEST too, and one of its leads is my friend John Bolger!

Back from all my errands and I have to send a curt email to my copyist.

Does anyone recall the title of a telly movie with I think, Muriel Hemmingway, that was a lesbian runner?

I can recall women running on a track and then sharing an intimate moment.

Yes, but then she ended up with a guy.

That's because it was written and directed by a straight man; it was his fantasy about lesbians.

We'll have to discuss it. I don't have the authority to make the decision. (Although they will listen to my wants/needs, since I will be the one to use it.)

My first gay film was THE KILLING OF SISTER GEORGE.
I read THE FRONT RUNNER when it first came out, so to speak.
I saw Derek Jarman's SEBASTIANE when I was in college.  Likewise, the Pasolini catalogue, though they are only gay because they came from a gay film maker.
Ditto the John Waters movies, saw them when they were first released.

I know I saw TEA AND SYMPATHY and THE CHILDREN'S HOUR on television, probably sometime after 1968. . .

In college (1974-78) I also saw Charles Ludlam and The Ridiculous Theatre Company in CAMILLE and HEDDA GABLER.
Also saw Julien Beck, Judith Malina and The Living Theater Company while I was in college - lots of nudity, male and female, and some gay action, iirc.

Yesterday, I went to Seattle to see The Drowsy Chaperone at the 5th Avenue Theatre.  I loved it!  It was quite well done AND Georgia Engel played Mrs. Tottendale, as she did in the Broadway production!  She and the rest of the cast were all very good.  I brought my numbered (#581 of 1000), limited (yea, right) edition vinyl cast album, but we saw a matinée and there was no one at the stage door (that I could see down the alley), so I didn't try to get Georgia's (or anyone else's) autograph.  I did buy a baseball cap and the Broadway production souvenir program...they were both half price. ;D   But it was a lot of fun!

And yesterday was the last day of the tour.  The closed last night.  There was a small party between shows, and lots(!) of packing up doing on - which is probably the cast did not "stage door" between shows.

Is "stage door" a verb ?

On that particular time, on that particular subject - I don't think it gets better than LONGTIME COMPANION......

The last couple of minutes and words: "I just want to be there....."

I am always very emotional....it is a very personal message for many of us.

Wipes me out everytime!
