I have been doing yardwork.

Sounds like an Emily Dickinson poem:

I have been doing yardwork,
Been rolling up my sleeves,
My family needs a raking
'Cause everybody leaves.

I applied the "Yellow Rose of Texas" test.
It works.

I'll stick to Robert Frost
(A Paul Simon reference)

I would like to ask for HHW prayers and vibes.

My sister was diagnosed with cancer and will be undergoing major surgery today.

Prayers indeed Dear Reader Laura.

Whew!  That was a major trip to the grocery store!  I think we have everything we need to prepare our parts of Thanksgiving dinner - and then some.

Australians like to travel.

I've been to North America thrice, Europe five times, (three of those vacations have been primarily in France)New Zealand twice and The UK &/or Island four times and lived in London for a year.  I've also travelled the Panama route from OZ to England.

I have no idea which was the most wonderful trip.  Age, circumstances and company have been factors of course.  My trips this century (France and North America) were more "people" orientated - I suspect that it is why they are special.  Some current and ex DRs have added so much to my enjoyment of USA, Canada, UK & France.

LOL, DR der Brucer!  I'm trying to unlearn some very bad technique.  No projects until after January 1.

Sony has announced that the final performance of Broadway's Rent, previously released into movie theatres as a special event, will be released on DVD with extras on 3-Feb.

Yay!! ;D I saw this in the movie theater and for the most part, liked it a lot.

DR Jennifer, I don't know if you remember a few seasons back on TAR. It was the finals and the team (can't remember their names) were at the gate leading to the finish line and they had to beg money to pay the cab driver before they could run to the finish line.  I think they either have to pay the fee or have the driver agree to accept less.

Yes i do remember that!

If everyone here who watches has watched last night's TAR. Who are your favorite teams?

Next week looks like it could be trouble for one team.

Another year, another Performance Evaluation.

We have a whole new Performance Evaluation form and we have to do our self-evaluation by Wednesday.  I'm at home now (I slept wrong and my back hurts :P) but I'm sure I'll get it done in time.

The good thing about being home is that I have some time to work on memorizing my lyrics. ::)

As expected lunch ran very long what with shopping and all, but everything turned out fine, and I got home in time to get part of my work load for the day accomplished.

I did spend the afternoon viewing THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: PRINCE CASPIAN on Blu-ray. As a film, it features the same kind of intense battle scenes as the first NARNIA adventure (different adversaries, of course), so while I find the characters appealing, it didn't seem much different than the first one. (Perhaps that's why its US box-office take was about half of what the first one made; it was much more popular overseas.)

The Blu-ray does look spectacular, however, as good or better than the last one, and the DTS-HD Master Audio offers 7.1 channels, so the sound is REALLY enveloping. Very impressive production.

I had a tough choice last night when I had some time on my hands to watch it or THE LITTLE RASCALS. I opted for the latter, but I'll get to Debbie eventually.

I did have time to listen to some of the audio commentary: the director and the four main actors. Thankfully, they're older now so there isn't as much giggling and silly stuff going on as was on the first NARNIA commentary.

Still more things on the first disc before I can move on to the second one later today.

I know you meant opted for "the former," unless of course there's a Little Debbie in THE LITTLE RASCALS.  :)

Some folk here were talking about J.D. Salinger's The Catcher in the Rye last week.

In yesterday's NY Times Book Review, one of the dealers was offering a first edition.  For a mere $18,500.00.

Does anyone want to buy it for DR The Vixter's school report?
