DR Elmore never mentioned that there was a Turkish restaurant near his home  :(

Frankly, my dear, DR elmore doesn't give a damn.

DR MBarnum - Define "often".  ;)

Almost as often as I try to get the NYC DRs to go see DOSTANA (and John Abraham rising from the surf ala Daniel Craig's James Bond)

I told you several times I was seeing it this week, oaf!

From the Fed Ex tracking site, it looks as if Miami university Library is getting 37 cartons of crap today. I'm a bit concerned because the weight of some of thecartons, which should be between 20-40 lbs are weighed in as 2 lbs! I hope i's a Fed Ex error that they will correct before billing me rather than a situation in which the cartons have been stripped of their contents.

Yes, I imagine there are a great many FedEx pirates who have been waiting for years to nab all twenty-six parts of THE RIFF SONG orchestrated for gay men's chorus.

Aren't you the sassy old coot tonight?

How is Stan?

I don't really know what to say, Laura.  Stan is semi-lucid for maybe one to two minutes in an hour's time, the rest of the time he is asleep.  He knows where he is (St. Joe's), the year (08), and the month (November), and sometime he knows his name; but most of the time he is John Smith or unknown.  Today was a horrible day.  He was not lucid at all, and he seemed to be far more uncomfortable and in pain than usual.  I don't know what to think, or what to hope for any more.

Sony has announced that the final performance of Broadway's Rent, previously released into movie theatres as a special event, will be released on DVD with extras on 3-Feb.

The Vixter will rejoice mightily to hear this --- I guess I know what she will be getting for Valentines' Day!

First they were saying we might get rain on Thanksgiving; now they are saying it may hit tomorrow. It is getting cloudy, but I don't have a headache yet.

If it were raining now, you wouldn't have to be doing yard work.

Of course not,  she would have been eating pancakes

I have been doing yardwork.

Sounds like an Emily Dickinson poem:

I have been doing yardwork,
Been rolling up my sleeves,
My family needs a raking
'Cause everybody leaves.

I like it!!!!

DR TCB, I hope something changes soon for Stan.

Too many people needing VIBES these days.  Fortunately there are plenty to go around.

Stan also tends to talk to someone that we can't see.  Some of us think it may be his late wife.  If it is, then perhaps what he said on Saturday may be telling.  He was talking to the other person and he said, "Why can't we just leave now, so that I can rest?"

Some folk here were talking about J.D. Salinger's The Catcher in the Rye last week.

In yesterday's NY Times Book Review, one of the dealers was offering a first edition.  For a mere $18,500.00.

Does anyone want to buy it for DR The Vixter's school report?

Speaking of which , she thanks you all for her support -- she delivered her poster and paper (she wrote hers in the form of a letter to Mr. Salinger) to school today and sid she was the secoind to give her report.  She thinks she did well

I'm off to rehearsal...it's supposed to be all music.  Today, I've been working on memorizing my lyrics.  I have most of it, but not every single word without prompting.  However, my solo lines (and my spoken lines) are all memorized perfectly! ;D

Until later!

When my mother died in 1994, she spent several days before her death talking to deceased family members as she wandered in and out of lucidity. When my dad was dying last year, he told Jo there were "angels" in the room. My last words to him were, "I love you, but if Mom walks though the door and says 'come with me, old man,' I want you to follow her."

I don't think your friend Stan has much time left, DR TCB, and I wish him well.

Vibes, prayers and anything else that works for everyone who needs them.

JR, $ received, I'll send stuff tomorrow.

I've been busy writing all day.  Ballet is not usually my thing, but I have to say everyone here should check out the EuroArts Uwe Scholz Le Sacre, it's absolutely incredible.  Also got Lost Season 4 Blu-ray done, and am trudging through Prince Caspian.

Matt, if you're doing Lost Blu-ray, let me know if you have trouble getting the discs to load.  I got them all to work, but it was a bit of a trial.

Back from rehearsals and a trip to J&R.  Rehearsals were fun - I heard six singers and they're all really good.  The duet with Julie Reiber and Katie Adams from Wicked will be a real highlight, as will a movie medley sung by Terry Burrell.  But the true highlight of the day was seeing our amazing ensemble do Turkey Lurkey Time with the original Bennett choreography.  I sat there like a kid in a candy store and I just didn't want it to end.  Our opening number is looking good, too.

Did I miss something?  Why are they doing a duet from WICKED in the Bacharach tribute?

Julie Reiber and Katie Adams from Wicked will be doing a Bacharach duet.
