For a moment there, I thought this was news coverage of last night's HHW mini-reunion!

I finally got around to watching WALL-E last night.

I thought it was very cute, charming, but I did start to get a bit "antsy" during the final 20 minutes or so.

I think it would have worked better (for me) if the humans had not been brought into the picture at all.  Their entrance changed the entire tone of the movie, which up to that point had been very Chaplinesque.

Also, why do these animated movies always have to end with a silly chase?

Don't misunderstand.  I did enjoy the movie.  I just don't think it's the greatest thing since chopped liver.

On the other hand, I really liked PRESTO, the animated short that accompanied WALL-E.  I was laughing-out-loud.

We haven't seen the movie yet & I appreciated reading your view on the film.

We ain't got no Blu-ray picture yet

But do we got pie?

That's what I wanna know!    :)

No, there ain't no pie.  Not yet.

Monday, however, is our Annual Progressive Holiday Pot-Luck.  I've missed it the past couple of years because it was scheduled during my vacation.  This year, though, so many folks are taking time off around the same time I'm leaving that they decided to hold it earlier to accommodate as many as possible.

My contributions will be:

Sweet Potato Souffle
Green Beans and potatoes
2 Coconut Pies

I make scrumptious coconut pies.  I'll be doin' some cookin' this weekend!

I'm not a coconut person but the other two sound yummy.

A big bummer: No BONES tonight to watch. Of course, that does give me MORE time to watch more episodes of TRANSFORMERS.

What it means to ME is that not having to watch Christmas in Rockefeller Center on my tiny analog TV, but getting to see it in 32" HD!

Yes, DR DRUXY, I couldn't pass it up for the price....I had wanted FINIAN'S RAINBOW, but the coast of it alone at various sites was half the cost of the set.....so I bought it!

The thing with those Warner Bros. 4+ movie sets is that, if there are (at least) 2 or 3 films in the set that you want, it's cheaper to buy the whole set (on Amazon)...rather than the titles individually.

Yes, I have landed and am in the car and on the way home. Very hard to type in a car.

Oops!  He's back.

Quick, let's clean up the place, so he won't suspect what happened while he was gone.

And that is great but confuses me when TV series pricing often shows better deals when you buy individual seasons than when you buy a complete series.

I'm having an ARRGGGGHHHHH!!!! kind of day. I read the home inspection report last night, had a loooong conversation with my agent, and have now rescheduled my whole day today to be present at today's inspections. Our buyers are nervous. I would be too after reading the home inspection report, which was filled with recommendations which make no sense in an 1820 house, some of which are not even allowed in a historic district, and some remarks which were just plain inaccurate. I shall attempt to calm the waters.

I missed you have potential buyers & in the inspection stage.

I rarely attempt it, as DR FJL is so much more amusing and accomplished at that sort of thing!

This is funny.  I noticed I had an extra quote in my post to DR Jeanne that didn't belong there.  Instead of using the modify option I deleted the post & began over.

Now DR Singdaw has quoted me before I posted. ;D

Does anyone else have a HINKY feeling about this Winona Ryder NEWS ITEM?

Her career has basically been in the toilet since the shoplifting charge.

But this item lends itself to wild speculation....like maybe she considered the jewelry "a gift" from Bulgari because she deigned to wear it.

His "hairdresser"?  Would that be along the lines of BK's "Mister" Teddy?

Rest In Peace - Odetta

Odetta, Voice of Civil Rights Movement, Dies at 77

How very sad. One of my favorite character actresses, Dorothy Neumann, was instumental in helping Odetta in her career.
