Good morning, Dear Readers!  I am preparing to get in the car to drive over the river and through the woods to grandmother's mom's house to do our annual two-day stint of holiday baking.  Should be a blast!

Today we will putter around with the Christmas tree, make a trip to the post office, have some lunch and then Anthony will go uptown to a dance rehearsal. I will meet him afterwards and we will go to the

Morgan Library Babar Exhibit

The Morgan has free admission on Fridays from 7-9pm so we are taking advantage of that option. There are many things to see at The Morgan, including the beautiful library but we will just see the Babar exhibit for now and go back another time for other viewings

Good morning, all! In 30 minutes I will head down to Tekserve and pick up my old computer, take it to the office, stop at FedEx for some boxes on the way back, and pack up a few things to ship to Ohio. Then, physical therapy at 1, and I'll pack up what I need to send by Fed Ex. Tonight my drummer friend Chris and I may see a movie or a show.

DR Ben, I love the Morgan Library, but I haven't been there since my friend Ric Wilscon left their Gilbert & Sullivan Collection to become curator for the Harvard Theatre Collection. The Morgan's G&S Collection may be the world's largest and they've had a couple of great exhibits. The Morgan also owns the manuscript score of Offenbach's Robinson Crusoe. Enjoy the Babar exhibit.

TOD:
DVD:  Aida, Fanciulla del West, those damned Netflx items
CD:  a lot of Christmas collections, Guy Haines, Liz Callaway, Robinson Crusoe

DR Ben - You will love the Babar exhibit at The Morgan, and it's large enough that your two-hours will undoubtedly be filled with many happy elephant sightings.  I, myself, need to get back there to do a more thorough "immersion" after my brief visit a couple of weeks ago.

And speaking of exhibits... "Measuring Your Own Grave" by Marlene Dumas which is about to open to the public at MoMA... WOW!  Truly haunting, even disturbingly frank images.

But "REBUS" is a lot of fun.  It's a an artist-curated exhibit, and it actually is set up like a "rebus", one piece of art leads to another.  It made me laugh out loud while I was walking through it.

I really enjoyed it. I must say it was full of surprises. Because before the show aired i thought that bob needed to go (even though i like him a lot as a person i like sugar and matty more). But i thought susie/crystal/kenny were a team and i thought that sugar/matty were a team. Little did i know that sugar thought that sugar/crystal/kenny were a team. There really was an awful lot last night that surprised me. Since matty got so mad at kenny i really for the life of me cannot understand why kenny would tell crystal to cross bob. That is the dumbest thing i've ever seen. I really do not think bob would have turned on kenny/crystal. So kenny basically lost crystal the game. I was also surprised that sugar went and told bob. Although i'm happy he did not use his idol. I loved loved how sugar wore her necklace to tribal and i was shocked she handed it to matty. The editing did not let that one out of the bag. Very good how she went on before about only using it herself.  I was really happy that the promos did not give away the twist tonight (like they did the past 2 weeks). Here is one interesting tidbit. On Global tv where i watch they have these "hmmmm tidbits" and last night they said that when matty was 18 he inherited a lot of money (they did not say how much). But that he blew it by the time he was 24!f oiaufo duaofp uoaufesaufousaofuouop uo

Good morning!

Colder, but definitely a brighter day. We had 2 inches of rain yesterday, so it's nice to see blue sky in contrast to the last two days.

Yep, back to work for me today dealing with the Blu-ray of THE WOMEN. I hate to have preconceived notions about the movie before I actually watch it, but I just can't see this working in an updated form. Society is SO different from 1936 when the play first hit the stage, and trying to update it to today just seems ill-advised. We'll see.

Most of what I needed to do prior to my vacation beginning has been DONE, FINISHED, IS OVER!

"Phantom Santa" was in this morning around 6:15 a.m. leaving goodies at "select" desks.  He usually visits after my vacation starts, but this year he just couldn't fathom returning to the office building after COB today until hismy vacation is over.

Hey everyone, Vixter here.
I have found out how serious cancer really is yesterday, as mom has been hurling on and off, and it's really rather frightening ( if you read this mom, I'm sorry, it really is) and I 'm getting more then a little freaked out that all she seems to do when I'm in the same room as her is say how I'm too young to have to go through this. I'm sorry, but, I'm not the one with cancer!!!! I'm scared, because it just doesn't seem like it's her, you know? She seems like a totally different person, and this is only the first week of chemo. I'm really worried, and I know you're all supporting her, so it makes a little better, but I don't know what to do, because nothing going to stop the pain that she's in right now. And that's why I'm very sad today.

On the lighter sid eof the news, I just found out this might be the only cool site that hasn't been blocked in my school...oh great, now they're gonna block it. Love you all,

Friday morning greetings!  I called in sick today, in order to look after Richard.

POTENTIAL TMI:

On Tuesday he had a podiatrist excise an ingrown nail and by last night his right big toe looked like Rudolph's nose - sure sign of infection.  He called the doctor, who called in a prescription for an antibiotic and who wants to see him today.  With my blurry eyes and his enflamed toe, we made quite a pair going out to Walgreen's last night.  It didn't take much for me to decide to stay home today - I've already been to the post office and the bakery and fixed a lovely bacon & egg breakfast for us.
