I am the first to post after bk. Must mean I have insomnia!

Favorite Disney live action films: THOMASINA, THE SCARECROW OF ROMNEY MARSH, THE HAPPIEST MILLIONAIRE, MARY POPPINS (that's all I can think of at the moment...)

Air Bags for the clumsy
By JEFF STRYKER

Elderly people reasonably dread falling: falls are the leading cause of death from injury in adults 65 and older.

Perhaps they need not worry anymore. This month the Japanese company Prop begins selling a wearable set of air bags to protect against falls. The device looks something like a fishing vest with a fanny pack attached. When its built-in motion sensors detect a fall, it inflates two air bags — one around the hips, the other around the neck — in a 10th of a second. Instant Michelin Man. It retails in Japan for approximately $1,400.

Tuesday morning greetings!  Today will be another day of training the new Grants Specialist, so I won't be able to post throughout the day.

By now, DR Ron Pulliam should be in, or near, the Eastern Time Zone - hope the trip is/was smooth!

Vibes to all - see you tonight!

Is The One and Only Genuine Original Family Band really considered one of the worst of the Disney films by some?

Maybe my affinity for "Let's Put It Over with Grover" (or whatever that Grover Cleveland campaign song was) has enhanced my memory of that film.

I saw the film at the Radio City Music Hall (My one and only time inside). I was more impressed with building and the Easter (?) show than the movie.

Regarding yesterday's posting regarding the music from the film 300

Shortly after the film was released, there was considerable controversy as regards Tyler Bates's score. It was pointed out that Bates' music heavily borrowed from Elliot Goldenthal's score for Titus (1999). In particular, Bates' "Remember Us" is identical in parts to Goldenthal's "Finale", and "Returns a King" is very similar to "Victorius Titus." There was talk of an impending lawsuit, however, on 3rd August 2007, Warner Bros. Pictures acknowledged on the film's official website, "a number of the music cues for the score of 300 were, without our knowledge or participation, derived from music composed by Academy Award winning composer Elliot Goldenthal for the motion picture Titus. Warner Bros. Pictures has great respect for Elliot, our longtime collaborator, and is pleased to have amicably resolved this matter."

Regarding yesterday's chat about which Little Women film was the best.....

Has anyone considered the mini series version (200 minutes) with three former Bruce Kimmel co-stars

Meredith Baxter
Susan Dey
Robert Young

and
Eve Plumb
Greer Garson
Dorothy McGuire
William Shatner

and many other recognizable tv actors

And your modest koi pond has seemingly morphed into a stunning in-ground pool!   ;)

TOD - I saw DAVY CROCKETT on television....but as for films.

First Disney live action film - THE SHAGGY DOG.  The film was hyped endlessly on Disneyland.  We saw it at the drive in.  Most of the time children under 12 were FREE, but each of us in the car were charged 25 cents to see this movie!

After that, we saw many....but the ones that I liked best were:

The Parent Trap
Pollyanna

and best of all - Summer Magic.

The One and Only Genuine Original Family Band was a lot of fun.  I especially liked the song and staging of "West O' the Wide Missouri" and "Let's Put it Over With Grover" was catchy.  "Ten Feet Off the Ground" was also fun!  Oh and "Drummin', Drummin', Drummin'" - I played that soundtrack endlessly....still have it and play it now and then.
