Jose - Just to clarify, though I know you know, Bill Parry was in the original companies of Sunday in the Park With George on Broadway, Passion on Broadway and Assassins at Playwrights Horizons, as well as Wise Guys at New York theater workshop.  And of course the Sam Mendes Gypsy revival.

Actually, since I just read back over my post, I guess I should have shifted Bill Parry's attribution closer to his attribution.  Or something like that.

Just got home from a long day -- good but nothing how I planned it to be.   Ah, the laid plans of mice of men....

Met some friends from out of town for a last brunch before they leave (unfortunately it was at the the same time as church).  The group of us all seemed to have run into ex-husbands recently in a jovial sort of way.  We were then standing around outside enjoying the sunshine and decided to avail ourselves of a free ride on the metro rail system that has more or less screwed up the entire city for a few years now.  The train cars themselves were nice, but I am not impressed with the system itself.  I try to be open-minded, but it is in the wrong place, screwed up one of the prettiest boulevards in town and is not done right.  If I can go to a city in which I do not even speak the language and easiy figure out their metro system, then I consider that a success.  Knowing this city and the language and still not being able to figure out the system does not bode well.

Today I painted the basement hallway which includes 5 doors and the ceiling.  It looks great.

Then I decided to change the flange behind the handle in the shower because it seemed rusty...I couldn't figure out why.  I went to 7 stores to find the right one and when I tried to take the handle off I discovered it's rusted on or something.   Then I realized that it's leaking from the handle and I could hear a drip but not see one.  It occurred to me that it must be leaking in the wall.  YIKES!!!!

So I have turned off the water to the house (there isn't an independent shut off for the shower) and left a message for the plumber to call me first thing in the morning.   The biggest problem is that the only way to get to the pipes will be to tear out the ceramic tile.  I think the wall on the other side is cement.   So if it has been leaking in the wall, it may be going to the drain.  I can hear it but I couldn't find any damage.

So I would appreciate any vibes.  I'm going to do without water tonight rather than pay the emergency rates.  I knew that I may have problems with the shower at some point, I really don't want to have to pay to have it totally redone, but I can't have leaking water, so I'm hoping for the best.

~~~Plumbing Vibes for Cillaliz!!~~~
It's a good movie.  But as I "warned" the other day, be prepared to do some wincing and covering of your eyes during some of the wrestling sequences.  Brutal and raw.
What' everyone doing for New Year's? I still can't decide. It's camping in Ocotillo Wells w/ the family & family friends or karaoke w/ co-workers. Both sound like fun.
Oh, I'm aware. I'm not ashamed to cover my eyes in movies, either. That's how I made it through Fargo. *grin*
My time back with y'all may be winding down again as i start back at work this week & finish up some projects before I go back to school next week. I've been using the communal downstairs computer lately, as my wifi connection upstairs is spotty, at best.
I tried to watch PLEASE DON'T EAT THE DAISIES before I interviewed Flip. But I couldn't get through it.
I remember watching the TV series, and liking it. -In reruns, of course. ;)
Wonderful, lilting theme by Jeff Alexander, IIRC.  I played it incessantly when I was a kid.
Cilla, do they have Bathfitter there?  They do fairly cheap (bath remodel-wise, anyway) inserts that "cover" existing showers or bathtubs.
Some people have been bugging certain indy labels for years to get the rights to the OST of Up the Down Staircase.  ;)
Have any of you seen the movie MAGICIANS? I love it. The DVD release was barebones & is nearly impossible to find. I wish someone would do it right.
Unfortunately, Film Score Monthly seems to have the lock on UA scores like Up The Down Staircase, a score I absolutely adore.  We did include a version of its slow theme on one of the two Karlin albums I did.
Earlier today, I downloaded a DVD of a show (I won't say what it is, because it was never commercially released or available ::)).  However, it was professionally shot with multiple cameras. :D It looks like it could be a commercially released DVD, but just wasn't.  Anyway, the site where I found it also had a .png image of a cover for it.  I printed it on glossy photo paper and it looks beautiful EXCEPT on the front, it says "Das Musical" (it's German, so that's okay), but on the back side it says "Das Grusical."  Grusical??  I didn't realize this until after I had printed it on the high quality setting. :-\
The only problem (and it's a very minor problem) is that there are no subtitles, so I don't know exactly what they're singing.  I am familiar with the story, so I have an idea of what's going on, but nothing specific.  I think I'll keep it anyway. :)
I've been putting this lotion on my cat's paws but it's not easy.  She obviously doesn't want me to do it, but it must be done.  I just hope that she eventually gets used to it, because I've got two and a half more weeks of this. :P
It's for her own good!
