Well, you've read the notes, the notes had gluten and plenty of it, and now it is time for you to post until the gluten-free cows come home.

The whole gluten-free fad is just another example of people deciding to be afraid of food.  Food is bad for you, you can't eat this, you can't eat that.  It's all BS.

Yes, there are a few people who have serious health problems.  However, only two percent of the population have honest food allergies.  Everyone else who claims a food allergy is totally clueless about what an allergy actually is, and is using the claim of an allergy (or two or three) as a way of forcing the rest of the world to obey their wills.

Gluten is what makes good bread such a wonderful thing to eat.  Gluten free bread is nothing but a stale cracker.  Bleh.

(Bows politely to the audience and steps down from the soapbox.)

Well, the four day Weekend from Hell has officially begun.  It is 4:06 a.m. here.  Betsy and I have been up since circa 2:30.  Gabe is up.  We must extract Zach from bed soon and be on the way to the airport.  Oy.

We will be on Long Island (I'll wave as we go through Deer Park Vixmom) for the long weekend. I don't know if we will be coming back to NYC on Sunday or Monday. It's probably Monday since Anthony has things to do to get ready for the trek out West.

It should be a relaxing weekend, at least for me. I'm not listening to anything right now and I don't know what my/our viewing plans are for the weekend.

Tis' cold in New York as well. It's 10 degrees, not below, just 10 degrees. We've survived worse.

Just read about the Cole Porter review with Victoria Clark and David Hyde Pierce at Lincoln Center.  It sounds de-lovely.  I hope it's being recorded--or better yet, broadcast on PBS.

What? With the delousy "see how hard I'm acting" Victoria Clark?

Good morning, all!

It's very chilly in my apartment and I'm all decked out in my thermal undies. I have a lot of work to tackle on Mr Loesser's score today. I'll change horse for a bit around noon and work on the score for Mr Brent Barrett before returning to the Napa Valley. I have no plans this weekend but to hang around the apartment and work.

TOD:
DVD:  The Great Waltz (with Patrice Munsel), a BBC Christmas Carol with Michael Hordern from the 1970s. La Vie Parisienne, The Lady Killers (Alec Guiness)
CD:  Paragon Ragtime Orchestra recording of George M Cohan songs, Guy Haines, Susan Egan
     VCR:  Military maneuvers
