Well, if I ever decide to play in one of my college's alumni recitals, I believe I've just found the perfect piece!!!

Quote
Ms. Chen’s own “Tale” from “The Memoirist” (2007) was the oddest and most entertaining of these pieces. In one segment Ms. Chen adds a toy piano descant to the repeating tune of a music box. Another involves heating an electric frying pan and scrambling an egg between keyboard passages.

And here's one more picture from my traversal of the Atlantic City Boardwalk earlier this evening:

Every hour on the hour, the fountains in the Caesar's Pier Shops put on a show.  It was quite a good show, although, I wished it had lasted more than five minutes.  -The remix version of "Fever" that accompanied the presentation was pretty cool too.  I may catch another show tomorrow before I leave.

Back from a lovelier than lovely evening seeing Miss Julie Wilson, and here's the proof.  Singer Jan Abrams, Miss Wilson, and my very own self.

Note the pants I'm wearing - I bought them twelve years ago and have never been able to wear them - they still had the tags on.  They now fit wonderfully and are very comfortable.

And I had a nice surprise - one of my favorite people was at the show - our very own WSMA, Mr. Brent Barrett, here pictured with musical director Chris Denny.

My day today:

I've been out and about all day.  I went to work for a few hours (it's the "pay the bills" time of the month and it all HAD to be done before Monday morning), then I went to my sister's for a few minutes and dropped of some DVDs that I made (the Obama Inauguration Concert and "Twentieth Century" with John Barrymore that I recorded from TCM).  I then met my friend Margo at Applebee's for dinner.  I got a gift card for Christmas from my sister's boyfriend ($75!).  Then Margo and I went to see "Slumdog Millionaire."  WOW!  I loved this movie!

After that, I came home and watched last week's 100th episode of "Desperate Housewives."  Now I'm catching up with all the posts (I just finished page 2 ::)) and am waiting for Idina Menzel's concert to come on hi-def PBS at midnight.  I don't know if was on before and this is a rebroadcast, but it's the first time that I'd noticed that it was on.  The problem with PBS is that the sound drops out for a second every few minutes.  It's annoying as HELL!!  Especially when I want to record something like a concert! :P

Anyway, that was my day, today. :)

I just came across Der Brucer's post with a link to an article.

But I had read about it before I knew that.

I now have the OSS movie and also the Mary Martin Hello, Dolly! but not the envelope that really needs to get here.  If it's not here on Monday, I'm going to ask for it to be overnighted - it's a check and they can stop payment and resend.

After I came home from the movie, I found a package of two CDs in my mailbox:  the Mary Martin AND the Pearl Bailey recordings of Hello, Dolly! ;D
