I have one word for you: Mac

And I have an answer - vulnerability to internet intrusions is platform independent; I don't know about modern Macs, but modern PCs usually come with Firewall Protection installed, or it is available in most security packages.

Something special for Elmore:

CHRONICLE BOOKS

Quote
Pride and Prejudice and Zombies
The Classic Regency Romance—Now with Ultraviolent Zombie Mayhem!
Quirk Books By Jane Austen
and Seth Grahame-Smith

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies -- Pride and Prejudice and Zombies features the original text of Jane Austen's beloved novel with all-new scenes of bone-crunching zombie action. As our story opens, a mysterious plague has fallen upon the quiet English village of Meryton—and the dead are returning to life! Feisty heroine Elizabeth Bennet is determined to wipe out the zombie menace, but she's soon distracted by the arrival of the haughty and arrogant Mr. Darcy. What ensues is a delightful comedy of manners with plenty of civilized sparring between the two young lovers—and even more violent sparring on the blood-soaked battlefield as Elizabeth wages war against hordes of flesh-eating undead. Complete with 20 illustrations in the style of C. E. Brock (the original illustrator of Pride and Prejudice), this insanely funny expanded edition will introduce Jane Austen's classic novel to new legions of fans.

It's all comes down to responsible web-browsing and downloading.  For both platforms.

Mac's are not totally immune to viruses.  However, since Mac's OS is not an "open platform", it would just require too much work and time for a hacker to develop something.  However...

As some Mac users have found out over the past week or so, there is some malware present in the new iLife '09.  Well, the iLife '09 that's available for download via bit/fittorrent - a.k.a. illegal download. ;)

Time to hang wallpaper

I should think criminal defense attorneys would avoid using "hang" as a verb.

As for the Super Bowl...

Is it may imagination, or is NBC just overdoing it today with their Super Bowl coverage?  It's going on ALL DAY!  -With a break at 5:00pm (EST) for Matt Lauer's interview with President Barack Obama.

I just don't seem to recall so much pre-game coverage before.

I am figuring that I will get to see most of the second half of the Super Bowl today.  GLORIOUS runs approximately 2 hours; 5 minutes with the intermission.  The cast is expected to do the "meet and greet" with the audience after the show, but I may just put in a brief appearance.  The house is practically sold out today.

I'm sure there will be some audience members in attendance today who will also be wondering how the game is going.  Maybe the theatre could set up a TV on stage during the "meet and greet"?  ;)

Can't they just watch on their iPhones during the performance :D

Well, after a run up to the corner store, I've discovered that it's an absolutely beautiful day here in NYC!  Time to get outside for a bit.

Pages are printed and Xeroxed and delivered.  I think I'll go do the long jog (very pretty out), then eat something and then watch DVDs and wait for muse Margaret's call.  Since I've done four pages, I don't think I'll write any more new pages today, but if she has notes then I might do them if they're easy.  And I decided to change the name of a dog in the book, so that's a simple find and replace, plus adjusting one line.

I mainly just stood there and directed people to the next "hole."

This had to have been DAW's philosophy at some point.

DAW (nee Sing) should be doing his Sunday singing if he is not sick; otherwise, he would be at home sighing.

JMK,

I too have the LP.  I picked it up for a dollar in a store in LA once.  Never got around to playing it until a year ago when a friend converted all my records to CD (I don't think there's been a commercial CD).  I did not think you could improve on the record which was performed by Ian McKellen, Ian Richardson, and Patrick Stewart...all three brilliant voices...but seeing it live was a treat!  I thought it odd or maybe just fortuitous that shortly after having listened to the album I should get a chance to see a performance of the same play.

Wonderful to read about DR CP's visit to London and all of the adventures he and the lovely wife had!

Also great to hear from DR DANISE during her reconstruction.

NEWS OF THE WORLD

Quote
14-times Olympic gold medal winner Michael Phelps caught with cannabis pipe

By Georgina Dickinson, 01/02/2009
THIS is the astonishing picture which could destroy the career of the greatest competitor in Olympic history.

In our exclusive photo Michael Phelps, who won a record EIGHT gold medals for swimming at the Beijing games last summer, draws from a bong.

The glass pipes are generally used to smoke cannabis.

And after sporting chiefs announced laws which mean four-year bans for drug-taking, Phelps’ dreams of adding to his overall 14 gold medal tally at the 2012 games in London could already be OVER.

PHELPS CALLS PHOTO OF HIM SMOKING MARIJUANA 'REGRETTABLE'

TAMPA, Fla. —  Olympic great Michael Phelps has acknowledged "regrettable" behavior and "bad judgment" after a photo in a British newspaper showed him smoking marijuana.

In a statement released to The Associated Press, the swimmer who won a record eight gold medals at the Beijing Games conceded the authenticity of the exclusive picture published Sunday by the tabloid News of the World.
Phelps said: "I engaged in behavior which was regrettable and demonstrated bad judgment. I'm 23 years old and despite the successes I've had in the pool, I acted in a youthful and inappropriate way, not in a manner people have come to expect from me. For this, I am sorry. I promise my fans and the public it will not happen again."

"Sorry" might not be enough.

That could be the most expensive "hit" in history.

What 50's movie do you think SHOULD have been filmed and shown in
3-D?

ATTACK OF THE 50 FOOT WOMAN would certainly have been a bit more lively.....and THE GIRL CAN'T HELP IT and WILL SUCCESS SPOIL ROCK HUNTER? almost cry out for the Third-Dimension effect.....
