Fair Warning:  To all those who are posting unheatlhy food pix -- especially cupcakes and other sweets --  I am ON to your motives.  Many folks here are trimming down and it seems others wish to tempt them with photos of foodstuffs.

Here's my warning:  Post all the pretty cupcake/fat-inducing/heart-attack-causing sugary treats you like.  I, in  turn, will post photos of the ultimate end-product -- the POOH...or the fat such foods metabolize into.

I'm not kidding.      ;D

I have this great tile floor in my kitchen that hides an amazing amount of dirt. It was in the house when we bought it, so it's got some chips by now. I love it.

Some day we will all have to post photos of our floors, you know.

I hate my kitchen floor and would like new countertops, but that's down the road.

TOD:

"Last Dance" is my favorite ever disco song.

Other favorites: "It's Raining Men," "I Will Survive," "Y-M-C-A," "Stayin' Alive," "On the Radio."

Have to agree with you on Last Dance.  I was in high school and college for Disco.

I loved Earth Wind and Fire

I love Gershon Veroba's parody of the song "September" by Earth Wind and Fire.

(I'm pretty sure I have JMK to thank for introducing me to that CD.)

I am up, and I am trying to energize myself for my two-a-day shows.  Bleh (to quote that ancient swami, Woody)!

My brother's birthday is September 21, so I always think of him when I hear that song

Ok, time to go to the store and see if I can find the flanel sheets my mother wants me to pick up for her.  I have a big pile of "Would you see if you can find this and I'll send you a check for it" stuff for my mother.  I hope she still wants it all when I finally see her next.

Thanks for the info DR Jane. I will take a look at it. Although the peanut butter i buy is made in canada.

It is not where your peanut butter is made, Jennifer, that you have to worry about.  The problem is where they purchased the peanuts to make the butter.

Sounds like someone needs a Chocolatine and/or Morning Bun from La Farine.

It isn’t just about peanut butter, it is about all the other products that might contain a peanut product shipped from the contaminated source.  Most major peanut butter brands are ok.  Even knowing this I went directly to a few of the websites & they all stated their peanut butter was safe.  I suggest doing the same before purchasing any new jars of peanut butter.

And the word of the day is: SPOONY!

And The Song Of The Day Is:  (Why Not?)   MY FUNNY VALENTINE

Be hold the way our fine
feathered friend
His virtue doth parade
Thou knowest not my dim witted friend
The picture Thou hast made
Thy vacant brow and Thy tousled hair
Conceal Thy good intent
Thou noble upright, truthful, sincere
And slightly dopey gent

Someone GOT a Chocolatine from La Farine!!  Also, he got a ham and cheese puff pastry that was "to die for."  The pastry is history.  I went next door to Peet's and got a particularly strong large latte.

The latte is currently working on the puff pastry...the chocolatine can wait.

VIXMOM, you need Marvelous Matt! Seriously, you may be able to find someone from the construction business who is in need of work right now--so many are. I certainly hope you do!

Do you think we could pay to fly Marvelous Matt down to Florida to help Danise, if things don't work out with her guy?

I  was under the impresson that it was the plants where the peanut butter was made...not the actual harvest of peanuts used.
Has this been changed to more closely reflect the hysteria we endured last year over tomatoes?

I hated 70s disco during the 70s.  But I loved 80s disco during the 80s.  Nowadays I don't mind some of the 70s stuff.

Danise needs to befriend either a power gay or a power lesbian.  Either way, they either know somebody sensational AND reasonable/responsible or they ARE that somebody sensational and reasonable/responsible.

Bruce Jenner could have played Lois Lane?!?

When I left the U.S. in 1973 for a tour of duty in Italy, folks slow-danced, holding one another closely.

When I returned to the U.S. in 1977, folks weren't touching at all when they danced...and dancing had become an endurance event.

Good morning, all! I dreamed that a whole group of friends from the Kern-Herbert project and I went to a horror film and this dream became intertwined with a dream about a group of 1917 Kern musicals I was touring with............................................. ..

That isn't a dream, my dear; but rather a memory!

As for the Topic of the Day...

"Knock On Wood" - Amy (or Amii) Stewart
"On the Radio" - Donna Summer - I even bought the sheet music for that one.
"Le Freak" and "Good Times" - Chic

"Bon mots" aside, I'm guessing Jenner thought he was protecting his Olympian image from becoming stereotyped as a cartoon character.

And look at the end result!!!   From Cheerios box cover photos to schlock guest appearances on cheesy TV shows.

Did you know that BK produced CD and LP of Return to OZ is going for $99 starting bid at two different Stores. Another going for $32 and one going for $8.00

Another international seller $86 and $47

Truthfully would anyone really pay between  $32 and $99 for this recording?

Wow!!

And I own two copies!!

So...

-One can describe which "pretty cupcake/fat-inducing/heart-attack-causing sugary treats" they are eating, but they just shouldn't post pics of them?

-Does "latte + puff pastry = POOH"?  If so, I look forward to the resultant pictures.  ;D  ::)
