Sucking on a Coldeez and sipping some hot EmergenC.  Sippin' and Suckin' - isn't that a Bacharach and David song?

Huggin' and Chalkin' is a Johnny Mercer song...

I love his song "If You've Never Had a College Education" from "College Rhythm"  (where they used the Hotel Set from "Gay Divorcee" as the college.  It warped me for years thinking of all these great deco collleges with glass block, revolving doors and bakelite floors!

I am up; it is freezing, and I had to take Sugar out to do her thing.  Lovely having her here, but I'll admit, the days when I cold just open the door and let her out loose in her own big fenced yard were easier on cold mornings.  She is cutely curled on the couch now.  And yes, walking 20 miles in the snow so she can pee is worth it.   Thank God we live in the desert!

Freezing! Oh, Mary, get off my dress :)

You're from Arizona. Freezing to you is 65 degrees ;)

It was no more than 52 degrees, but i think it was actually officially 47 degrees at the time.

Freezing is 32 degrees.   :)

Freezing is freezing when you've been awakened  on a frosty February morn from a nice toasty sleep and you're outside waiting for a dog to pee at 5:30 am.

I know, I'm teasing you.  Freezing in the fall here is much higher on the thermometer than freezing in the winter.   I agree

I took the Goldstein sisters on an adventure today: IKEA. I hope I wore them out enough to go to bed early tonight. Mr. Goldstein said he took a nap while we were gone.

OMG, Laura your quote is hysterical. At least they know and use the real words.

I almost missed that.  I'm laughing so hard it is difficult to type.

I spent part of the afternoon at a Winter Carnival with my mom and my niece. Oy!

It was packed. And i carried this sled around and my niece would not sit on it. All the other kids were being pulled by their parents. But she would not sit on it.

Nor would she go on the horse drawn carriage ride.  Nor the inflatable play areas they had set up.

I was surprised that there was a skating rink set up before the inflatable rides. And one had to cross ON THE SKATING RINK to get to the rides. That was scary! My mom would not even attempt it.

In fact the whole park was full of ice. But they poured gravel over it. So it was very walkable.

The only things my niece would do were: taffy on the snow. Which she loved. And playing in the park. Surprisingly the swings and slides were still functioning. And a lot of kids were playing there.

Then after when we were leaving she decided she would like to try the tobogan. I had asked her to try it when we arrived (because you don't always know what you like until you try it). Anyhow she decided she loved it and it was great. So i had to pull her all the way back to the car. The whole excurstion was tiring!

My neck has broken out in hives. I'm not sure what i did. Or what to take. I did try an antihistamine. It was really hurting. Now it feels okay it's just all red.

Kids are so much fun ;)  I'm glad your niece gave the toboggan a try.  Do they have the carnival every year?

An antihistamine is what I would have done for the hives.  Do you have any antihistamine or cortisone creams you can also use.  I hope it wasn't from something you ate.  Vibes it clears up quickly.

Jane, sweets, I did wait three days, almost four, in fact.

OK, now I'm confused or I would drop this.  Saturday morning, when you first said the person seemed to have left, was already three or four days?

Good Evening!

The recording sessions went well.  I think. I hope.  Again, I was just asked to come in and plunk some notes and basically lend another set of ears once we started recording.  Thankfully, the recording engineer was really on top of things, and was able to fix a couple of "spots" right then and there.  -Gotta love that digital technology!  Of course, as I kept listening to the takes, I started hearing other "spots".  After everyone had finished their takes, I went ahead and left - I really could not and did not want to "think" anymore.  But one of the writers stayed behind to go back through the takes with the engineer for the almost-final mix-down.  Thankfully(?), they just needed a basic track for tomorrow, and still have two months for any other post-production that may or may not be needed.

In any case... I had to walk around Chelsea for a while just to decompress my brain before hopping on the train back uptown.  Whew!

I did make it home to catch the last half hour of "TAR", and I really liked it too.  Now that was a challenge!

Were you wearing a scarf today?  If the hives are the result of some sort of "contact allergy", I'd also make sure to wash your neck with a gentle soap and cool water.

If that fails, I have it on good authority guillotines virtually eliminate neck hives.  Not to mention necks.   ;D

Did you drop them off in the Kids Play Area? Did they go into the Ball Room?

I have seen a kids' area but not a ball room at our IKEA. They went to neither. They were happy enough to explore the rest of the place, including the cafeteria.

I began my afternoon watching DAMAGES, and another mind-blowing twist and turn scenario it was once again. Thank goodness this only runs a half-season. I'd be crazy trying to keep all the maneuvers backward and forward in time straight. In its own way, it's more convoluted than LOST since there are many fewer characters and a time line much more concentrated than LOST's.

Agreed!  -Which is one of the reasons I watch "Top Chef" at 10:00pm instead of "Damages".  Having to keep track of all the twists and turns back-to-back with "Lost" would give me a headache.

So... A "half season"?  Does that mean they'll be splitting the season in two? Or that this season is just a short season - with the mystery - well, at least one of them - solved in a couple more weeks?

DR MattH - Are you watching those four-minute wrap-ups of "Damages" that FX seems to be running at semi-random times?  We noticed that our DVR picked them up, and they're actually a very good refresher before viewing the new episode.

I thought a tallywhacker was usually what you have, not what she has?
