Oh, Lord what a day.  I spent most of it trying to sequence the soundtrack - endless cues and alternates and no way to get it in true film order, since that would be a very unpleasant listen.  But, I think I've got it so it's good and I'm listening to it right now and it seems to play well - after I finish, I'll send the edit map to the mastering guy.

I love Kurzweils, too, Jose, and in fact I played one bought especially for me at tonight's Ash Wednesday service.  It's a gorgeous burgundy color.  I freaked a little tonight because we got two loud pops when I hit A3 so I have to see if perhaps that outlet isn't grounded.

So, since it was "bought for you(me)" did you get to take it home with you after the service? ;)

What kind of "pop"?  I know sometimes some of the samples can go wacky every now and then, and end up "popping" on their own.  Although, the last issue I had with a Kurzweil had to do with a piano/celeste split.  For reasons still unknown, sometimes the celeste would detune itself about a quarter-tone.  I even transferred the programming over to another Kurzweil, and the problem still surfaced every now and then. "We" think it might have been tied to one of the light changes happening at that time in the show - and the consequential "shift in power".

Next, I had enough time to watch the first three singers on tonight's IDOL. They were among the absolute WORST singers I've ever heard on the show. The judges should be hanging their heads in shame if this is the best they could come up with for semifinalists from a hundred thousand people who auditioned.

Well, the judges were as unanimous as Mrs Slocum that the first three no where near lived up to the potential thay had exhibited earlier in the contest.

I didn't watch tonight's "American Idol", but I did listen to it in the background as I watched "Lost".  -Although, I missed a good chunk of the first hour.  In any case... From what I could hear, it sounded like (another) good night to miss. (I'll catch up this weekend via the DVR once I'm back in NYC.)

*However, I was quite surprised, and actually a little proud to find out that my father was actually taking notes on each singer(!!!).

LOST - I loved it. A lot.

And most definitely geared toward the "short attention span" crowd tonight.  And it still left a few things to think about, a few holes, in the "recent" past.

Well, on my scorecard, Adam Lambert won by virtue of being the least boring (not counting Norman Gentle, who, as expected, got lots of laughs). The judges liked Megan, but I just can't get into a tattooed girl dressed in a flour sack prancing around barefoot on the stage - she looked like an out-take from Li'l Abner.

PAGE NINE TIME TO LEAVE DANCE!!

Tonight, Theater Artists Olympia is having a general meeting/potluck.  I'm going and need to bring something to eat.  I don't yet know what.  The meeting doesn't start until 7:00 pm, so I have some time to get something.  When I get home, I'll watch "Lost."  I can't believe I said that I would go somewhere on a night when "Lost" is on!!

Dopey me. ;)

Until later!

;D

AARRGGHH!!  The TAO meeting went well and I got home at about 9:15.  I went upstairs and my DVR was on, but the red record light was NOT on!!  I quickly turned on my TV and the sound from the DVR was off, which is the way it's supposed to be when it's recording something and the power was off when it starts recording, BUT IT WASN'T RECORDING! :P AARRGGHH!!

FORTUNATELY, I hit the record button in time and there was enough of the show in the hard drive buffer that it was able to record the 9:00 pm episode from the beginning, but I didn't get the 8:00 pm pop-up repeat from last week.  If I had been recording this just for me, there would be no problem, but I'm recording the shows (including the pop-up repeat) for a co-worker because she no longer has cable.

Anyway, I'm watching "Life On Mars" right now, and will watch and record "Lost" to my DVD burner afterwards.

I don't suppose that anyone recorded tonight's pop-up episode of "Lost"?

Thanks, anyway.  I know that she likes to have the pop-up episode, but it's the new episode that's important.  And I did get that. :)
