This morning my hiking group was about to turn around and head back when I suggested we go around the bend for the view.  This is what we saw.

You can't see the wet snow falling.  This afternoon the wet snow turned into "dry" snow and has left a light dusting over the land & trees.  The driveway & road don't have much at all :)

RE: IDOL (not the show tonight, but the comments DRS Der Brucer and MattH made).

I totally disagree with what you both wrote (re: the talent in the top 12 being totally based on talent and not on male vs female).

I'm not saying there should be 6 and 6. If there is more male talent, then i don't mind that the top 12 reflects that. But i'm not okay with there being 9 guys and 3 girls.

I"m sure the judges have numerous factors that they consider. But i definitely think that it is important for the show that there are enough female contestants.

DR Dakota, I have no plans to keep the snow.  My plan is for it to melt tomorrow.  I will be happy for it to stay up in the mountains where it belongs & where I can view its beauty from afar.

If the clouds had not rolled in by the time we saw the eagle you would have seen the snow capped mountains in the background.

Nice eagle spot, Jane! I'm glad you continued around the bend.

So were we.  I only expected a lovely view of the lake.  My friends were bemoaning the fact they left their binoculars in the car.

OMG ha ha ha ha. Idol fans should check out votefortheworst.com (after they've seen tonight's show).

Their choice to win for wildcard (don't they know the fans don't vote?) is hilarious!

Boy Rex Reed will went for the jugular with that review.

Someone should remind him of Myra Breckenridge.

And also remind of his recordings of

Sugarfoot on Ben Bagley's Vernon Duke Revisted, It's A Nice Face/I'm In Love Again (Medley) (Adler, Bock, Coleman STAGE benifit) & In Our United States (Lerner, Loewe, Lane STAGE Benifit) The last two songs were on releases BK produced

No need to remind Rex Reed about MYRA BRECKINRIDGE. He savaged it more than any other critic in the country, including his own work in it. He knew it was a no-win situation, so he called it what it was.

What a busy night I've had. I began by finishing the bonus features on BATMAN & ROBIN. I then immediately came back upstairs and finished writing the review. I didn't post it until a little while ago since I didn't want to give up prime TV viewing time (it took a half hour to format it on the site.) Enjoyed revisiting them (even the worst ones), but also glad to be done with it.

Next, I watched CHUCK from Monday night. OK episode, and I love Jonathan Cake (looks like he's on the next episode as well), but the on-off stuff with Sarah gets fairly tedious.

Next, I watched the IDOL results show. I can't argue with any of the choices though I might have preferred Von to Jorge. Still, they're all worthy additions to the finals.

I was FURIOUS that the obnoxious Tatiana was chosen for a wild card slot. I was very happy that Von and that wonderful male singer from Semifinal Week 1 was also one of the possibles still in it.

Balderdash, DR Jennifer! Let the people sing and let the sex chips fall where they may. I want to hear the best singers, and from the three weeks of semifinals (that's really all I have to go on), the men have been far better than the women. The cream will rise to the top anyway. If a woman is the best, she'll win regardless of whether she has one other woman in the finals or five other women. We have had four women winners to three for the men.

DR Jennifer - Just a comment about your "hiding" of Spoilers...

Since you don't put word breaks, and since you "type" in a pattern your spoilers actually still jump out sort of easily.

Heard Robin Williams was hospitalized and is taking at least a week off from his tour.  I assume this has no impact on his plans to bring his show to Broadway.
