As for that review of Betty Buckley... Well.. I think I can now say.. With my head held high...

I was a part of LESTAT!

;D

 :D :D :D

And as for Rex Reed's critique of Buckley,  I suffered  through "Lestat's" out-of-town miscarriage!

An Out-of-the-Blue Question for BK
Do you still have plans to release a complete "Songs of Benjamin Kritzer" compilation CD?

The doctor was very pleased with my progress thus far and doesn't need to see me again until after my full body scan (which will probably be in April sometime)

Good Afternoon!

Greetings from Birmingham!

My flight made it in on time, with no bumps or other turbulence along the way. I've just checked into my hotel room, and just need to take a little breather before I walk over to the convention center to check out the space.

SETC has been here before, and it was nice to see that they opened up the lobby and check-in area. With this many people - 3500+ - they'll need all the room they can get. They also had some free chocolate and surprisingly decent champagne at check-in too. I may go back for another glass.

*The only "minus" right now is the lack of free, wireless Internet access in the hotel rooms. It's available in the public areas but not in the rooms. Additionally, the in-room access is via cable/ethernet. I also thought it would be free for Starwood Preferred Guest members here - like it is at other Sheraton's, but it's not.

Boy Rex Reed will went for the jugular with that review.

Someone should remind him of Myra Breckenridge.

And also remind of his recordings of

Sugarfoot on Ben Bagley's Vernon Duke Revisted, It's A Nice Face/I'm In Love Again (Medley) (Adler, Bock, Coleman STAGE benifit) & In Our United States (Lerner, Loewe, Lane STAGE Benifit) The last two songs were on releases BK produced

We were disappointed in THE REAPER.  The first 2/3rd of the show was everything we don't care about the show & very little of what we do enjoy.  The last third gave us hope the next episode will be much better.

I recorded this but haven't watched it.  I like the show and hope it doesn't tank. ::)

I am sorry about the lack of free internet access.  I hope your room is nice!

If you go back to the lobby have some chocolate and champagne for me!

DR vixmom - The lack of in-room Internet access is truly a minor inconvenience. I could pay for it, but since I'll be out of my hotel room for up to 12 hours each day, well... At least I can still post via my iPhone.

My "Tower Room" is very nice, and since I'm on the SPG floor I get free breakfast and afternoon cocktails and snacks. Also, when I checked in, I heard the glorious phrase, "You are all set. Your room charges have already been taken care of. Enjoy your stay." :)

I am glad everything else is so nice.  I can't wait to hear about the auditions!

Today we went hiking on a new (to us) trail. The light was all bad for photos, and now I am ready to take a nap.

At the committee briefing going over the schedule and procedures for the next three days... It's gonna be an interesting couple of days... Hmmm... -Apparently, we're supposed to have a record number of auditionees this year... Which is "nice", but it wasn't supposed to be that way. Hmmm...

After the session, Linda Purl and I had lunch at the French Cafe.  I had a quesadilla (excellent) and rice pudding (excellent).

Then I picked up a whole slew of packages and now I'm on hold with the DMV trying to find out where my registration and tags are, since it's been a month since I sent them the form and check.

But, boy, did he ever love Frances' supposed autobiography, so it all evens out.   ;D

Great American playwright

Horton Foote

has died at 92.

The theatre has lost a playwrighting master IMHO
