Next, I watched LIFE ON MARS. I agree. That sexy pilot was worth watching the otherwise really easy-to-solve mystery.

Jason O'Mara was also quite an eyeful, and chose an especially hilarious name.

I skimmed through tonight's IDOL results. Not unexpected and not unwarranted.

ON THIS DAY IN THEATRE HISTORY:

Thirty-six years ago, in 1973, the stars gathered on stage at the Shubert Theatre to present SONDHEIM:  A MUSICAL TRIBUTE.

It will never happen: there was some off-pitch singing, some screwed up performances and the producer left one singer deliberately off the album, I've heard, so I doubt he'll release ever a complete performance.

I wish that someday a legitimately released COMPLETE recording of the entire evening could be released.  I know I've heard tell that there's an illegitimate complete recording (;)), but I'd like something official.

It will never happen: there were some off-pitch singing, some screwed up performances and the producer left one singer deliberately off the album, I've heard, so I doubt he'll release ever a complete performance.

I have heard it too.

Some of the miscues involved hitting microphones and causing feedbacks (You're Gonna Love Tomorrow)

Could I Leave You for example is not the live performance but a studio recreation.

A lot of the remarks are filled with mispronounced names, wrong song titles and other misinformation. Fpr example: Donna McKechnie is introduced as Donna McKenny or something close to that. I Remember is I Remember Sky, There  Won't Be Trumpets came out as There Will Be No Trumpets.

But I always thought with today's technology these miscues could be fixed. Not the remarks of course

Who was left off the album, and why?  Is the producer holding his entire package for a fabulous price?

It involves the the actor, someone in charge of the event, and his girlfriend. that's all I know.

DR Elmoore always have some good inside scoops.

An interesting side note one of the producers of the show was Craig Zadan who with his partner went on to produce the film version of Chicago

I would love to see the uncut version of Sondheim: A Celebration at Carnegie Hall and not the edited version they used for tv and home video,

DR MBarnum - Of course, you know very well that I would gladly hold your package at any price.  Preferably free.

Count me in, too.

From Tony Kushner's Angels in America: Part I:

Prior: I'm a homosexual.
Harper: Oh! In my church, we don't believe in homosexuals.
Prior: In my church, we don't believe in Mormons.

;D

From LATTER DAYS:
Your church doesn't believe in homosexuals or alcohol; I don't think I'll be joining. (or words to that effect spoken effectively by Jacqueline Bisset).

Done viewing - I gave up on Blithe Spirit because the transfer is so dreadful and the sound is so low it's just too annoying.

Not looking good for House Of Flowers - they can't find any tapes.  I'm listening to the LP and it's a nice album - IF they should unearth the tapes, I'll probably go for it.  I'm sure it's mis-filed.

It just took me ninety minutes to write the notes, and you are telling me that in all that time not one person can be bothered to POST.  I am nauseated by the WUSSBURGERING - it's never been this bad.  We're going to have to DO something about this WUSSBURGERING because this will NOT do, no, this will NOT do.
