So.....from the past:

Merv Griffin - he was the best.....he could talk to anybody, and he asked good questions....really enjoyed his interviews with Lucille Ball, Carroll Baker, and of course Jack Douglas and his wife Reiko.
...these were separate shows, of course.  And when he had his BROADWAY or MOVIE opening shows, I always loved the songs and clothes....and hearing about being ONSTAGE or opening a big movie!  The MAME movie Merv Griffin Show made the movie look like the greatest thing EVER!!!  And Lucy was so excited to see the clips!  He also did a wonderful CABARET movie show....and the reaction to the title number was so great....he showed it twice.  Petula Clark also showed a clip from GOODBYE MR CHIPS and opined with Merv that the movie hadn't done much of anything....but that it was a lovely score.....

I also liked Jack Paar and Mr Johnny Carson and Mr Steve Allen.

Steve had a very insightful interview with Miss Karen Valentine discussing her life and her decision to oppose her parents wishes and go into show business.

For about a year Donald O'Conner had a talk show, and he interviewed Miss Nancy Kulp - the only time I ever saw her do such a show - and she was wonderful and forthright.  She also played the piano and sang "Sentimental Journey" with Donald and was completely enchanting.

BEST TELEVISION INTERVIEW I EVER SAW:

TIE

Mr Phil Donahue with Miss Ayn Rand......

Member of the Audience:  I enjoyed your books when I was younger, but now they seem so unrealistic.

Ayn Rand:  Get off my show, and give me back my book.

AND:

Lucille Ball interviewed on GIRL TALK by Miss Virginia Graham!

DR Jane i went and got some Vitamin E oil. I've only been using it for 1 day. But it seems like it is helping.

I was at Walmart and decided to see what they had. But i didn't really know how much actual Vitamin E would be in their stock. They had cream and oil.

I ended up going to a nearby health store. Unfortunately the only bottle of Vitamin E oil was very big and very expensive.

But the girl there showed me the Vitamin E caplets. ANd said if you prick a pin in them them you can get the gel out. And if you rub it on your would it is the same as the oil. So i did that. It is very interesting to see what is in those caplets!

I'm actually sort of happy NBC is showing reruns. Cause with DWTS (2 hours) and One Tree Hill i already have 2 shows at 9pm!

Tonight is also the MTV finale of the CITY. I've grown sort of fond of it. And i'm actually looking forward to the HILLS starting in 2 weeks.

Thanks for DR vixmom for the detailed concert report, and congratulations to DR the vixter on acquitting herself so well!  :)

one of them (I forget the first or the second) was sung in unison.
It wouldn't have been the second item or the following set.  Eric Whitacre never met a divisi he didn't like.    :)

I'm up - slept late because I ended up watching the edited DVD of our Bacharach concert (edited being used very loosely - two cameras, both bad, but it's better than just the single camera).

I hope Mae-Ling & Wae-Ling are feeling better today.  I’m glad it wasn’t more serious.

I get so carried away writing the notes that sometimes I forget a detail or two - like hanging out with Chip Hand and the Boone family and playing my songs for Pat, who was very complimentary.

And just so you have some context, here's the lyric for You Said, and the only reason I happen to have this at hand is because my darling daughter recently asked for it.

You said we’d have so much
Said there’d be such
Good times – like I never knew
But I guess I’ll have those good times
Without you

You said that I should trust
Said if I’d just
Love you – that you’d love me, too
Well, I’m left here with my love and
Without you

You said – I believed
Thought I was home, safely at last
But how does everything go by
So fast

You said things were so good
Said nothing could
Happen – it sounded so true
But I’m back here where I started
Without you
Without you
Without you.

Good morning. I am about to walk Mae-Ling to school this morning, since Mr. Goldstein has to go rent a car today.

And how is Mr. Goldstein?  Was Mrs. Goldstein with them?

and of course Jack Douglas and his wife Reiko.

Mother of God, is this the end of Reiko?

That's one of my favorite movie quotes.

BTW: It's "Mother of Mercy...."
