Playbill On Line says this about the Natasha Richardson issue

"The extent of Richardson's injuries have not been released, although a posting on TMZ says that Richardson is suffering from brain swelling. The New York Post, which says Richardson is brain dead, reports that the actress "is being transported to New York this afternoon so her mom Vanessa Redgrave, two children and other loved ones can say goodbye before she's taken off life-support."

I've got some things to tidy up with my computer desktop, and then I'm heading down to have a fun, free evening of viewing pleasure.

Thank you, DR Jane.  We had a nice visit with her and her daughter and son-in-law at my cousin's wedding last October.

MTV UK is reporting that Natasha Richardson has died, but I haven't seen this confirmed by any other source, and it could be completely false.

God I hope so, and that reports of her injuries are overblown.

DR Jane, that is crazy that one book has 24 holds. isn't the library just for your town? Even the most popular books here would never have more than 10-15 people on the list. And that would only be if it just came out.

Each little suburb here has its own library. So maybe your town has more people.

It is very common for libraries to be part of a larger network of libraries in order to share their resources.  Our Ashland Library is only 1 of 15 libraries that are part of The Jackson Country Library Services.

Until someone from the family says something, I really wish all these "news" people would keep their traps shut.

Back from a good lunch meeting - I had an egg and bacon sandwich.  Not bad.  I will definitely be coming to NY in early May to put up the act of the gal singer I've been working with in LA.  She just paid for my flight and now I must find a nice hotel with a good price.  Any ideas?  I do hope we can have a couple of fun get-togethers while I'm there.

Excellent! I'm in DC on May 6 & 7.  Otherwise, I'm around.

And a big thank you to our DR JMK for sending me a workable copy of "This Land Is Your Land." I just printed it out. I thank you, Mr Ron Raines thanks you.

Good Evening!

Well... I walked up and down King St. in Charleston, and, well, that was about it.  King St. is essentially made up of a lot old(er) houses that have been turned into stores, high-end boutiques and restaurants.  It reminded me a lot of D.C.'s Georgetown.  I need to block out a larger amount of time to check out some of the side streets, as well as the area along the water.

What all of this horrible Natasha Richardson news should remind us is to wear a helmet!  We don't let our kids ski/snowboard without wearing one.

Happy Green day to all!

TOD:

today's:  A production of "Macbeth" expressed solely in the dance and an all nude version of "Hamlet."

Yesterday's TOD:  Merv was great especially with Riunite on Ice.  "We'll be right back."   I never cared for Mike Douglas, but he got great guests.   Dinah Shore was one one of the best-- warm and lively.  Jack Paar was too pretentious, but I liked his interviews with Judy Garland and Dody Goodman.  Dick Cavett was good when he'd shut up and let his guest talk.  Steve Allen (and his cast of zanies-- Tom Poston, Louis Nye, Don Knotts)  and Johnny Carson are still the tops.

Friday's TOD:  "The Best of Mama Cass" and "The Best of Spanky and Our Gang"  (which amounted to about three songs in the case of the latter)

I had soup for dinner last night.  Campbell's feels compelled to print in bold letters on the the front of the can that Soup is Great for Cooking.  Damn-- and I had planned on eating it raw!

DR JMK I have been to a ski slope in about 10 years.  I don't ever recall seeing people wear helmets.  Has that changed?

I booked the Wyndham Gardens in Chelsea through the site that Jose recommended - incredible deal I must say - the five-day stay is $777.  Most expensive night is $175, cheapest is like $135 or something.  Free wireless Internet, too.  I do have to confirm with the hotel itself that the bed is at least a queen, but I don't get the hotel confirmation number for three days - once I have that I'll call.  IF there were to be a problem with that, then I'll cancel and book elsewhere - there were incredible deals for many hotels on that site.  Best of all, they don't charge the cc in advance like some of these places do - not charged till the end of the stay.
