I can now officially tell you that we will be doing an elaborately staged reading of The First Nudie Musical on June 15 and 16 at the NoHo Arts Center Theater as part of the LA Festival of New Musicals.

Fantastic news, bk!    Congratulations.

Glad you got the financial stuff straightened out.  SO aggravating...

See you later, must go to Office Depot, then to meet someone at the Beverly Garland Hotel.  Some Monavie thing, an old friend from the 60's said I would like it, not spending any money on health drinks, just to meet his wife.

I fell very sorry about Natasha Richardson's death, but partly in a very selfish way.  I would love to have seen her and her mother in A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC next year.

Can someone who has Mandelbaum's Not Since Carrie book scan the chapter on Illya Darling (IF there's a chapter on Illya Darling) and e-mail it to me?

Actually I just looked it up and there is no chapter on it. I think it ran too long to be included

BK was mentioning

Bud Cort

earlier and now we have a picture of him at 60 (thanks to TMZ)

Hmmm...maybe it's time for a HAROLD AND MAUDE sequel with Cort and...Dakota Fanning?

Ew.

I just read that CBS has renewed its first two shows for next season: TWO AND A HALF MEN and THE BIG BANG THEORY.

MEN was renewed for THREE years!

THEORY was renewed for TWO years!

YEA!!...about "The Big Bang Theory."  I haven't watched "Two and a Half Men" in quite a while.

I just watched an interesting clip from the Good Morning Show with Diane Sawyer taking to a neurosurgeon.  He explained how a severe head trauma occurs.  DR JMK, sorry, he also said a helmet would not have necessarily prevented this.

He also mentioned something else might have caused the fall & the results, not just a fall.

Sorry, I can’t find a link.  I watched the video on Yahoo.

DR George, everyone in awhile, thanks to Big Bang, we watch moments from 2 1/2 Men.  They remind us of why we stopped watching the show.

This is so sad.

And my copies of the new Kritzerland releases arrived today!!!   Hoo and Ray.

I am thrilled that Kritzerland is releasing again at semi-regular intervals.

Why do you people thousands of miles away get yours before I get mine?  Why, Bruce?   ;D

It's the same with me.  I always get Kritzerland shipments later than other people. ::)

But at least I get them! ;)

DR Cillaliz, didn't know if you'd seen this article about cell phones leading to more mistrials.

Yes, I saw it.  In state court the jurors have to surrender their cell phones during deliberations, but they could probably use them before deliberations.

In federal court, you can't take a cell phone in the building unless you are an attorney, but once again, I suppose they could use them outside of court

DR Cillaliz, didn't you say that you had purchased a Roku digital video player?  How do you like it?
I love it.   I have watched a number of movies from Netflix instant play.  They have added the Amazon rental now, the upgrades are done without you having to do anything. They upgraded it and the next time I turned it on, there was Amazon and how to rent movies. I haven't rented from Amazon yet.

The Netflix stuff you just create an instant queue from your computer. It has to be the available instant movies, but there are tons of them.  Then when you turn on your Roku, there they are

So...  It looks like my parents have rescheduled their trip to the Philippines for sometime during the last week of April.  Of course, they'd like me to go with them, but that would mean I would be flying there the day after I finish here in Charleston... Hmm...

I still don't quite understand the fall and how she was hurt.  I was wondering if there was more to it than the fall.  I also had no idea people ski in helmets now.  I used to ski a lot (years ago) but have never worn a helmet or seen people ski in them who aren't in a race

Well, this is one person thousands of miles away who did NOT get ANYA today. So it doesn't always work out that way.

I was watching a video clip of Cabaret on the Ed Sullivan Show in 1969. It was withMartin Ross (Joel Grey's replacement), Anita Gillette (Sally replacement). They did not use the original staging,

but there was some interesting substitute lyrics.

My questions are these official lyric substitutes written by Kander or just written for the tv performance?

From Wilkommen
Each and everyone a virgin  became

Each and everyone innocent*

from Cabaret
As a matter of fact she rented by the hour became

As a matter of fact she changes her heart each hour

*This is interesting because a year before on the Tony Awards the used the original lyrics

When I saw a matinee of CABARET in the summer of 1968, Martin Ross and Anita Gilette were the two replacement stars for the performance I saw, but I can assure you those were not the lyrics used on stage.

Ed Sullivan was known to be a prude, and the CBS censors may also have had a hand in those changes. The 1967 Tony Awards were broadcast on ABC (a different set of censors).

I spent the early part of the evening watching the remainder of the bonus features on IL GENERALE DELLA ROVERE. The rest of them only took about 45 minutes.
