What you see is what you get now. You may notice a lot of us have TINY avatars. If you use one from the list from the old board, it will be bigger....but if it's a new one....you are a little person.

I remember seeing "The Soloist" on display in various bookstores, but never paid any attention to it. -I went through a phase where I bought almost any music-related book, and, well, I had to stop that "impulse", so...

When I was in LA last year, I attended a concert at the Walt Disney Concert Hall - the LA Phil playing Hindemith and Mahler. After the concert, I did some browsing in their gift shop. "The Soloist" was prominently displayed on the counter alongside an announcement that Steve Lopez would be doing a reading and Q&A session the following week. Who? Then I started hearing some ladies at the counter talking about the book. Hmm...

When I got back to New York City, I ended up downloading the audiobook version of it - I had a free Audible.com credit. I still remember staying up late at night in order to finish "reading" the book. And there were a couple of times when I found myself missing my subway stop, as well as finding myself crying during a train ride while listening to the story, the true story.

Again... Read the book.

DR Jose, I have place a hold on The Soloist by Steve Lopez. Thank you for the suggestion.

There is another book with the same name by Mark Salzman (Iron & Silk) which I enjoyed very much. Mark Salzman used his experiences as a child prodigy of the cello in writing this The Soloist.

So am I. Thankfully, if there is a delay, I can always use the machines at the theatre's costume shop which is downtown - so at least I could take a nice stroll during the wash and dry cycles.

Dang, that's two years in a row that Chef Jay Caputo hasn't made the finalists list (Mid-Atlantic).

Maybe you need to join the James Beard Foundation so that you can become a nominator.

*Or write to "Gourmet" or "Bon Appetit" or "Saveur", etc., and have them do a feature story on restaurants in Rehoboth. An "off-season" feature would be a good angle. Buzz is buzz.

B) Too many of the restaurants shut down during the off months (Jan thru March)

C) I'm not a twitter fan. Just like I don't like conversations where everyone interrupts each other and speaks too fast for any real intelligence to seep in. Sound bytes are not sound thinking. So there!

A) Agreed.

B) Do Espuma and Porcini stay open year round? -And the story could cover various resort towns, and cover both "in season" and "off season" places to eat.

C) You could start the dialog on Twitter, and then continue it elsewhere.

Espuma and Porcini House have stayed open thru the off season. Jay is one of the few chefs to do so, however. I think I noted a week ago how depressing it was, to wander about town and see all the places that were closed, some permanently.
