I have not used the can for 4 days now!!

Have you tried Metamucil??     ;)

Seriously, though, DR vixmom....thrilled for you and your progress!!  I hope you will continue to take it easy as much as you can and not try to push yourself too much, tempting as it may seem...   :)

Meeting today, meeting Thursday. I need a haircut. I have to go to the post office to mail a package to Wales but I can't do that until Wednesday because I need to buy Shrek tomorrow. I hope I don't have to run all over to the few remaining CD/music stores to find it.

One of Anthony's Wisconsin friends is having a dinner "in our honor" when I am there. I guess my husband has impressed the locals.

I will probably see the show twice. It will be running three times during my stay but I need to do computer maintenance on the laptop. As much as I would like to see it three times I may skip one performance and do downloads and virus scans, etc.

Ah, the life of a geek.

Monday morning greetings!  I will be E & T until later this afternoon, because both my mom and my aunt need attention.  Mom and I will do her errands this morning and my aunt has her Rx recheck with the eye doctor this afternoon.  Off to little-old-lady land!

Ouch.

When the Vixter was in 2nd grade I went to meet the teacher night and the teacher greeted me with "Oh you must be Vicky's grandmother!"

That was when I decided to keep dying my hair.

I honestly don't remember which made-for-cable series was the first that I saw.

I do remember David Rosengarten's Taste, which pre-dated Alton Brown's Good Eats.

(Tell me that wasn't predictable.   ::))

I'm up this early because the doggies wanted their breakfast.

Seriously.  I stirred a little, and they started barking at me.

A dog without a doggie buiscuit breakfast is a terrible thing.

And noisy.

Rosengarten was dropped by FoodTV, about when Scripps took over I think.  He wrote some of the restaurant reviews for Gourmet for a while, has written a few books, and I think has an on-line subscription foodie newsletter to which I don't subscribe.

So, of course, there's a link.

TOD:

By the time we got cable in our neighborhood in about 1978/79, the fare wasn't as daring as other DRs have reported.  Garden State Cable never had any kind of public access programming like other cable outlets had, so there wasn't much in the way of the craziness that NYC had during the 70's.

I'm not recalling a lot of the early stuff, at the mo'.  I remember a fun show on HBO hosted by Dick Cavett that looked back at the early decades of the 20th century.  NOT NECESSARILY THE NEWS was generally a pretty funny show ( I would love to see this on DVD.)  I was also a fan of FRAGGLE ROCK for the first two seasons or so.
