Last night i took HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL 3 out from the library. Interesting, this being the first installment that played at the movie theatre (the others were on tv).

Interesting? What's interesting about releasing a sequel as a feature-film? Especially since the the whole HSM franchise is HUGE!  All about da' money, DR Jennifer.  *And I think a full film treatment was the logical place to go - bigger budget, bigger production values, bigger movie.

Yes, they had proven their poplarity and deserved to go to the big screen for their swan song.

The next HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL reverts to the Disney Channel and will be without Kenny Ortega's expert guidance. (I think not having him is a mistakesince CAMP ROCK without him was much less entertaining than any of the HSM films).

Interesting DR DAW......it seemed in the late 1990's, Livevent was minting its own money....and maybe it was.

A press release says Jon Hamm will play lawyer Jake Erlich in the film HOWL! about the trial of Allan Ginsberg...and that TV's Perry Mason was based on Erlich......is this news to anyone else?  Or was he a friend of Erle Stanley Gardner's?

Wikipedia says it's so.

But this seems to beg the question....do they know there was a Perry Mason BEFORE television?

Well, there you are....you learn something everyday.

MR BK - I started to watch TWO FOR THE SEESAW once when it was first on television about 50 years ago.....and I have to say I can't take Shirley MacClaine's forced "quirky" and just couldn't continue.  And she and Robert Mitchum both seemed years too old to be playing the people they were pretending to be.....I couldn't take it.

Faux quirky is my least favorite movie type.

I always wanted to play Gittel Mosca ("Yeah, h'lo!"), and now I'M too old.

Henry Fonda and Anne Bancroft played in the original Two For The Seesaw - they seem about the same ages as MacLaine and Mitchum back then, I think - Fonda was probably older than Mitchum, actually, by ten years, I'd guess.

I wonder how the play of Two For The Seesaw holds up - the film is a different beast - entirely opened up with some new characters.

I guess I thought the project you were talking about for Hanna-Barbera was going to be a series, not just a song.....did it have a title?

Anne Bancroft being depressed and unloved is no picnic for me either.

I listened to some CD's recommended by HHW friends.....Jacky Terrason, Eldar Live at the Blue Note, and Kip Wilborn.  All very good.......

Then I listened to a couple of Barnum's Bollywood Hits....very nice.

Question for Ask BK Day:

If you were offered to play either lead in The Producers, would you rather be Max or Leo?

*Although, I would LOVE to see you in that Chrysler Building dress as Roger De Bris! ;)

Maybe I wasn't clear - the show was called Rappin' and Rhymin' - and it was hoped that the show we were doing for video would end up as a series.  There wasn't a song called Rappin' and Rhymin' - there were six or seven songs within the show.

Certainly I would have been the Leo type back in the day and would love to have played it.  I'm not Max, I don't think.  I'd be a fabulous Roger, though, don't you think?

Speaking of THE PRODUCERS, we just found out we've managed quite the little OBC coup for our production, but I am sworn to secrecy.
