Thanks for the food report, DR JoseSPiano!    ;)

Alas, I did not bring my camera with me.  Ah, well.

Well, I hit the mother lode as far as mail deliveries. No, no review discs at all, but I got the Blu-ray Bonds (and will probably watch QUANTUM OF SOLACE tonight) and all five of the Warner Archive selections I ordered on Sunday. The widescreen movies that I chose are marked as being anamorphic so that's a great relief making them better than I could have burned for myself with my own DVD burner off TCM.

If I have time tonight, I may put one in just to look at the transfer quality and to make sure it plays in my DVD players.

It drizzled some more while we were at lunch, but for now, the rain has moved out though we still have a gray cloud cover. That's not supposed to leave us for two more days.

When I got in from lunch, I watched the last two episodes on the first disc in the second season set of NCIS. Both good episodes, but the killer was very obvious in the second episode, and there was a lot of slapstick bumbling with Tony which I wasn't in the mood for.

The first was the better of the two episodes about a family feud in West Virginia that dragged a Marine helicopter pilot into it. Not much mystery but a more exciting episode.

Then, I watched today's AS THE WORLD TURNS. Luke, Noah, and Luke's real father were in the spotlight today. Interesting new story arc. You know that he's up to no good, but I'm thinking he needs that foundation money and is somehow going to trick Luke to give it to him.

I ended the afternoon watching one more IDOL performance from last night. Anoop did OK with his song, but he did hit a few sour notes with that falsetto crooning. Still, there was a sweet tone to his voice, and some of it was rather pretty.

So who is this person playing in the show, DR JOSE?

He plays - in order of costume (change) - the Blind Violinist; Kevin, the costume designer; a Stormtrooper/Heil-Lo/Nazi; a Prisoner (of Love).

Finally, I can both receive and SEND email!  It took 20+ minutes on the phone with Road Runner tech support, but all is OK now.

Anya will only be up this week, I think. I'm at Langer's very early. Maybe I'll take a photograph.

I will listen to it this evening as I'm packing.

I am now checked in for my flight to Madison.

I have a meeting in 2 hours and 10 minutes. The meeting will probably take an hour and then I'm gone.

Is it too late to ask you to say Hi to Madison for me?  I lived there for seven years.  Ah, youth!

Certainly I can pass your greetings on to Mad City!

The Party Campus of the Midwest if tales are true.

One of my dear friend's sister is the Executive Director of the

Madison Children's Museum

and on Tuesday we will have lunch with her and then see the Museum. Since we cannot go to Ten Chimneys this will be a good replacement. After the museum, depending on how much time we have we may visit the State Capitol.

I leave from Madison on Tuesday at 6pm

I got one of those external hard drives in the mail today, too, and I'm going to install it now and then head downstairs for more viewing.

TOD:  Two of my favorites are "Same Time, Next Year" and "Love Letters."
I think "Love Letters" is great if nothing else for its sheer wisdom.  A two character play (actually a reading); pay good many to bring in names; no sets, no costumes; no actual memorization needed as the lines are being read.  Make money.  Go to bank.

Well......

Margaret Shelby an erstwhile minor Hollywood actress with her career mostly behind her, had at age 27 been courted and married a relative of yours, Hugh Fillmore (grandson of Millard C. Fillmore) in 1926.

They were divorced a year later.

Margaret's sister and mother Charlotte were suspects/victims in a sensational case when they were revealed to have both been intimately involved with murdered director William Desmond Taylor.

Margaret's sister was the lovely Mary Miles Minter and her mother Charlotte Shelby - who many people believe to have been the perp in the case.

Wondering if any of our Portland DRs have ever been to Rimsky-Korsakoffeehouse?    :)

Many a time and I know Goody the owner quite well.  I won't spoil the surprise waiting for you when you visit the upstairs bathroom.

It's not Frances, is it?

Hello all!  I worked until 3:30 today.  When I was drving home saw the Vixter walking home from school.  So I picked her up and since we were both hungry we went to the locla pizza parlor and each had a slice of pizza.

I had to cut mine witha knife and fork and it took nearly 45 minutes to eat but it was GOOD!!!

Very interesting association here, but I have to ask if there is an inspiration for a "Chinatown" plot device here.  Was Charlotte REALLY Margaret's "sister and mother"?  (i.e,. "My sister, my daughter, my sister, my daughter")

I had a stomach ache all day today.  I had a lot of work to do and since Edith was only there for the morning (visitation/funeral stuff rest of week).  I went in to work. When I finished my last hearing at 2:30 I was in real pain. (I had on a new suit and great shoes so I looked great, just didn't feel too hot)   so I came home.   I ate some bland food and drank some water with baking soda in it.  I am on the recliner in a blanket. I'm feeling a little better.

DR MBarnum:  Have you ever met the woman who is the love child of Loretta Young and Clark Gable?

I don't believe so.

Here's a little more info on Judy Lewis
