Oh MY.  How fun is this?  FUN change, BK, fun!!  Change does stink, but this is FUN.  As for the topic of changing things from my childhood, that's a book in itself.  I grew up WAY too fast in a very small town, now, I believe I'm paying a bit of a price living in a large area like the SF Bay Area.  Anyway, FUN FUN FUN.  Oh, and I hope you all know Bear :)

Well I am finally here.  Had a bit of trouble registering. Not sure why I always have these problems. But my password did not arrive. So when I tried to register again, my name was taken. Mark helped me though.

I do like the new look. It is very snazzy. The pictures are freaking me out though. And I am quite sure I do not want to look at myself everytime I post.

I need to try the new features.  One thing I did notice is that it takes my computer a bit of time to load the pages. Is anyone else finding this?

Funny to see the mention of Stoo Hample and The Silly Book fame.  He was instrumental in getting The New York Times to Our Wedding.  There was also a Silly Record.  When I was a kid, I was watching Wonderama and saw that they'd stolen a tune from said Silly Record.  Knowing copyright infringement better than any other 9-year-old, I informed Stoo and he won a lawsuit.  He gave me a percentage of his profits back them, used my name in Children's Letters To God, and, these days, does whatever he can to act like the Jewish mother I never had.  (Ooh, a Big reference.)

Good Lord!  I thought I'd NEVER get to this point!

Hard?  No.

But my gosh....the words one has to read through to get here!

Well, it's a done deal now!

And here we are.  I'm not too keen on seeing that my profile page actually lists my age.

I don't care, necessarily, that YOU guys know...but I hope unseemly interlopers who can read this forum CAN'T see our bio info...I've had experiences where bio info on another site was used by a moron to "infer" things about me on another site.

What is the difference between posting a reply and a "quick reply"?

Oh my gosh, I think I need a directory to figure out what those tags are!

Let me see.

More.

[move=left,scroll,6,transparent,100%]Still more[/move].

What is this one?

I don't think there are enough smilies for me!

But I like colors!

Noel and Joy--that is such a cute pic of you two.

Hapgood--I LOVE that you can so easily throw in an Evening Primrose reference!

Jrand--thanks for the link.  I don't really have time to read it now, because I'm on a short break from my loooong Western Civ class, but I totally will later!

Well...I guess I should head back...

Later all!

I am trying out the "quick-reply"

So many choices and gadgets, I don't know where to begin!

JRand53, you should do an Allison Hayes picture of the day!

[move=left,scroll,6,transparent,100%]I have an idea!  I have an idea!  I have an idea![/move]

For Ask BK day:

What do you think about having a Tutorial topic, maybe under the Technical Assistance area, where you can offer various tutorials on how to use all the features, and what they're for, and stuff?  It can be kind of overwhelming for those who have never used this kind of board before.

This is the "teletype" feature.  So, what's the point of this?

Hey, I just noticed that for the messages that I've posted (and no one else's), I have the options of modifying and deleting them!  Interesting!

James Rohlehr has done a brilliant job of recording Our Wedding - The Musical and it's very exciting to listen to this dynamic CD.

Anybody have any guess on how many of these we're likely to sell?  It's well within our budget to quickly run 100, but would it make sense to invest $2500 or so in 1000 copies with remastering and shrink wrap, just like you'd see in a store?

I'm thinking the price should be $20, with free domestic shipping.  Too much?  Too little?  And more remastering?  How does one know how much a CD like this needs?

Yes I like this idea.

So far one thing I wish is that there was a button on the original page that would take me right to today's discussion. Is there? Right now I have to click thru today's notes twice and then click on the discussion, and then go to the last page.

Also, it loads very slow for me.

Take your time, Maya - it will be there until the 12th of never - a Benjamin Kritzer reference.

An Allison Hayes picture of the day....someone would LOVE that....LOL!!!  There are certain DRs who rue the mention of her name (and that other girl who shall remain nameless) in my posts and in chat.

Anyone wanna give me a clue as to how to solve the problems I've had trying to upload my picture?  I have a jpeg file, and when I originally tried to load it, I was told it was too big, and that the max size was 110x150, 20kb.  Well, I have resized the photo to 144x108, but I am getting the same error message. ???

Oh, that's sweet!  Being able to go back and correct those misspellings, gramatical errors and word omissions/duplications that used to haunt me.

DR Jay - post that question to the Technical Thread, I will be interested in the answer as well.

Same thing happened to me.  :P

Not that I (as another dear reader wrote) am sure I want to see a picture of myself each time I post.  Maybe Batman isn't such a bad idea.

I just typed a message and previewed it. Then I wanted to correct something, so i went back. But it was gone. How does one edit?

I think we can go to haineshisway/community to skip part of the problem.

I do like the tags.

Agggh!  My head is about to explode...I have SO much schoolwork to do...I have to a review sheet for my Western Civ exam next week and read the next chapter on the Expansion of Christianity, plus I have to read like 50 pages of Emerson stuff! $%#($Y&%^(^

Okay, that feels better.  I should get to the library and study...I may not be around much for the rest of the day.

Jay--Well, when I have a photo that's too big, I make it smaller with Photoshop.  You just crop the pic and save it.  I'm sure Mark Bakalor could be of more help than I could!
