Good Evening!

Tonight's run-thru went very well.  -And I only had one conductor/operator error!  WHEW!

Of course, since we move into the theatre tomorrow night for tech, it means that we'll be "losing" the show for the next few days.  But I'm looking forward to having some time to take care of some final fine-tuning - figuratively and literally - in the space.

And speaking of the theatre...

Here's the link for The Sottile Theatre on the campus of the College of Charleston.  *However, it seems that the website may currently be down.  I'll be sure to take some pictures tomorrow - it's a beautiful space.

Well, I continued with the SCIENCE IS FICTION short films. I watched 8 more leaving four more for tomorrow plus other videos and documentaries with the set.

One of the bonus features on disc one was a 95-minute compilation of eight of the films I had watched already but this time rescored with music by Yo Le Tengo. The films already had their own scores so I felt this was unnecessary though the music was certainly different from what was originally used with the films.

After that I watched Monday night's HEROES. Overall I liked the show, but I am SO over Hiro and Ando as comedy relief, and HRG's wife just happening to be in Washington so Sylar could confuse the issue seemed very convenient.

Next I watched tonight's BONES episode. I didn't guess the killer's identity, but I did enjoy the show very much. Great chemistry with this cast.

And I concluded my evening with tonight's SOUTHLAND. Lots of characters, only about five of which we got to delve into in any meaningful way. I'm sure the others will be explored in more depth in upcoming weeks. I just hope they keep the cases close-ended. The LAST thing NBC needs right now is another serialized drama.

I just watch Wall-E again too night.

What a nice film.

They obviously couldn't come to dollar terms with Ms. Streisand for her voice and image in the Sunday Clothes number.

So there is Michael Crawford, Marianne McAndrew, Tommy Tune, Danny Lockin (his estate) the dancers and Marianne McAndrew's dubber (There were two. One for the solos and one for the group numbers.)

I wonder if the get any residuals?

I got the review copy of SIN CITY on Blu-ray late today. I won't have time to get to it tomorrow, but I guess that will be my weekend project. There are two different versions of the movie in the set (separate discs), so looks like I'll be watching it twice plus a bunch of bonus features. It comes out on the 21st, too, just like the Criterion disc I'm working on now.

So...

Apparently they had to "fix" a lot of the swastikas this afternoon - both on the costumes and on the set.  (Spoo!)

And I will be getting a rental car in the morning...  I think.  I told them that since we're going into tech anyway this weekend, I really don't need a car until Monday... And since it's Easter weekend... Well... We'll see...

*I also discovered Charleston's "Green Taxi".  They use Prius Hybrids.  Best of all, they charge a flat-rate of  $7.00(!!!) for travel within downtown Charleston, and only up to $20 from downtown out to Mount Pleasant.  Quite a good deal.

Holy Thursday Mass went rather well.  Good Friday should be smooth, also.  I'm excited as we always include "By My Side" and if I'm up to it, a version of "Gethsemane" we'll see how it goes.

Tonight I received a txt from a good friend who is a horn player and who is playing in a community production of Crazy for You.  Evidently, the bass player subbed out and the sub didn't show.  Quite a kerfuffle for a show which one of the major numbers is "Slap That Bass".  Well, they made it through with the keyboard player doing something with a bass patch.  The sub showed up at intermission.  I'll get the full scoop tomorrow.

"Gethsemane"? In church?  Cool!

Will you be singing it?

Just looking at my schedule for this weekend... and my remaining two weeks here in Charleston.  -Wow! I guess time has flown.  At least the next few days of tech will make things slow down again. ;)
