DR elmore there are Boxer rescue groups near you & multiple animal protection groups.  There must be someone who can come to this dog's rescue, and in return your rescue.  At the least help the owner take better care of his dog.  I hope other people can hear the dog to verify your reports.

If nothing changes after the owner returns, or the dog is ever left alone for days again, I suggest finding a group who will come to the aid of the dog.  In the meantime I suggest keeping a written record of the days & hours the dog barks.

When he gets back today, it's his problem. I think between the landlord and, if I have to call 911 about disturbing the peace, a police order, he's going to have to find alternate ways of solving a problem caused by his irresponsibility.

I've been watching last night's LITTLE DORRIT; this series reminds me a great deal of Jane Austen, especially in the character of Amy's moronic and impossible father Mr Dorrit. I like the cast a lot. The one thing that separates Dickens from Austen, though, is the grostequerie of his character, and these people are much creepier than Miss Austen's.

Well, I am off work today.  I told my boss I was English.  How was I to know that Boxing Day was only the day after Christmas?

New First Dog "Bo":

Bo?  Hmmph.  I know a lei when I see one, and that dog is wearing a lei, not a bo!

Oh, his name is... never mind.

Oy, I have spent all morning doing prerecords for the choreographer on The Producers.   Larry, please tell Doug Besterman that it really isn't necessary to change key signatures every bar.  :)

On a happier note (so to speak), I just had a wonderful conversation with the man who is probably going to be Oregon's next governor, and he has invited my band to play the governor's mansion once he is ensconced there.

DR S. Woody.

I don't think I ever answered you about my favorite Brosnan Bond. I like GOLDENEYE the best. In fact, I think each of his four Bond films get progressively worse. I like TOMORROW NEVER DIES more than THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUOGH which is far better than DIE ANOTHER DAY.

In terms of box-office, they were all big hits, and each one did better than its predecessor. So, someone liked them. I really thought the first three were entertaining escapist fare. The last one, not so much.

For me, the four, in order, are:

The World Is Not Enough (the big failing being Richards, otherwise strong storytelling, and great villainy)
Goldeneye
Tomorrow Never Dies (love the second half, the first half with Hatcher deserves a hatchet and I don't care for Price's villain)
Die Another Day (painful to watch, really)

And that's horseracing.

Speaking of "Little Dorrit", I had THE MOST UNUSUAL DREAM about the show last night.

I dreamed that one of the characters was MBarnum and that he found himself posted to India with the Army.  When he arrived, he was assigned an untouchable for a secretary.  The "untouchable", as it were, was rather effete and given to leering looks when he addressed MBarnum.

There was also a young British officer with whom MBarnum was to share quarters.  He was a strapping young man who seemed to like MBarnum, but it was for naught.

I awakened and wondered, "What the HELL!??!"

I know the character from "Little Dorrit" from whom the "leering" part comes...but how it turned into a gay "Passage to India" I couldn't explain.

Re: The Draft

My number in the Lottery was 8.

But, it was the last year they pulled numbers, and nobody was called.

Which is why I'm still alive.

A general?  No, mine was far more specific...

Back from the jog, and from an errand.  Have written one page of questions and will keep going until I have to leave to listen to tapes, after which I shall return, finish whatever questions are left, and finish at least the first act of the long musical.

Der Brucer, too, would have some interesting tales to tell of the Military, starting with the USNA.

But he hasn't been on the computer much at all lately, and even less here.

I do not know what is up with that, other than that he hasn't been feeling well, and hasn't wanted to do much of anything.

I've arranged for today and tomorrow as Personal Holidays.  Nice to be off and get paid at the same time.

The idea was that we'd go to the DMV and get my learner's permit (at long last).

But then der B's daughter had to get into the act.

No no no, der B and I cannot drive to the DMV, because neither of us has a licence right now.  She will not hear of it.

But she can't be bothered with taking us tomorrow.  She'll take us next week.

How nice of her to have our lives wrapped around her schedule.

I cannot wait until she tells us that she'll take us on Wednesday or Thursday... when I have to be at work.

Because, boy will I have words to say about that!

Good Afternoon!

Greetings from the pit of the Sottile Theatre once again.

Of course, now that I'm here, and have gone through some of the "stuff" I wanted to fix/tweak, it turns out that there's no way for me to fix/tweak those things unless I go back through the show files and do a lot of editing and re-programming.  Again.  So...

I think I may take a nap, and maybe I'll 'dream' of a easier and less tedious way to accomplish what I want to accomplish.

DR SWW - Just go the DMV tomorrow without DerB's daughter. Period.

*And if you are a bit wary about being "caught", I guess you could always call a cab.  -Is there a co-worker who could pick you up?

Cab?  CAB?  You've been living in cities far too long, Jose.  'Round these parts, when you call for a cab they send a tractor.
