Congratulations S.W.W.!!!  Does this also mean DerBrucer renewed his license & is legal to drive?  I think it was nice for his daughter to be concerned and take you.  Did she drive all three times?

Der B now has his ID card.  And the car passed inspection, and had it's licence renewed.

His daughter did almost all the driving, to the DMV and from and to and from and to.  I did the final from.

We're already planning on her hubby, der B's son-in-law (and therefor my out-law) helping with getting the licence itself.  Which should be interesting, since he tends to be lead-footed when he's the one behind the wheel.  WHEEEEEE!!!

And here's an interesting anomaly: to get the ID, all I had to prove was that I am currently living in Delaware.  That took providing them with mail sent to me where we live.  To get the Driver's Licence, I have to provide either a current passport or my birth certificate - in other words, prove that I'm actually me.  Although, how my birth certificate provides that kind of proof, compared to the mail...

I mean, hey, even if I hand them the ink-print of my baby feet, I can tell you right now that I've grown a bit since then.  How does anyone actually prove who he is?

(Oooh, the discussion verges into existentialism!)

(Der B, being a spoilsport, just told me that they're just asking me to prove I'm an American citizen.   Pppbbbbbbbbtttttt!)

DR Woody, remember:  a permit to drive is not a permit to go joyriding with a carload of boys until all hours of the night.
But the dogs all love car rides!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KEITH

Dear Ben, MacGregor looked like just a wonderful dog, I'm sorry on his passing.

Dear George, I hope you have a wonderful time tonight, I'd see the show just from the link.

Dear Jose, thanks for the pics, funny.

And again Laura and Daw just make me laugh.

I've been rereading Agnes deMille's wonderful Dance To The Piper and her closing section on the making and premiere of the ballet RODEO leading to the opening night of OKLAHOMA! is so generous and moving, along with the wonderful gossip and portraits of various ballet stars like the great Danilova, star of the company, doing deMille's makeup for the opening performance of RODEO. just glorious.

DR vixmom - I think the vixter and her friends would LOVE Altar Boyz. Depending how many people are going, you may want to call their group sales hotline, you may be able to get a better rate - and they sometime will recognize the "birthday girls" in the audience too.

*And one of my roommates is one of the dressers for the show.  Just sayin'....

I just got back from seeing Maureen McGovern in concert.

I waited for over 30 years to see her live.

It was so wonderful. I fell in love. What a wonderful lady.

We had to a chance to chat after the show and she signed all my cd inserts that I had.

All the cd inserts except for one

It was 20th Century Masters. the Best of Maureen McGovern.

She told me she got stiff from them and received no royalties. So I told her she did have to sign it.

Jose:

Has AT THE RIALTO ever been recorded?

I don't believe it has. However, Karen Akers' last cabaret show, "Move On", closed with "At the Rialto", and  she also has a Kander & Ebb show too - and I believe a recording is in the works for either show.

Now for all those wonderful people who have a great ear for music.

I have a question about the song THE MOON IS A HARSH MISTRESS.

Now I have heard other people sing but this is the first time I noticed something about this song. It may have been the arrangement, but........

The song Romantic Notions from the musical Romance/Romance seemed to have borrowed thematically from The Moon is a Harsh Mistress.

Any body notice this or am I just whistling away the dark?

Continues to be a heavenly day. A slight little breeze greeted me as I sat on the porch while my lunch was cooking.

I have an urge to visit with you for the rest of my recuperation, Matt H: a lovely clean house, a nice porch to sit on during all your sunny and warm days and then state of the art movie viewing!

It sounds heavenly!  What are your day rates?  ;)

Rates are very reasonable even in the off-season! I'll drop a brochure in the mail to you!

Had an interesting evening of viewing. I began with an NCIS episode on DVD. It was a fairly funny one with an FBI unit that was the mirror image of Gibbs' NCIS unit both investigating what appeared to be a murder and ended up being about a drug deal gone bad. And a good trick ending.
